Shadows not appearing

hello all,
does anyone have any idea why the only shadows i can see are the ones on the ground and none on the faces? also, why could the "On Faces" option in Shadow Settings be greyed out?

Click the icon on top left (box).

Yes, you have shadows turned off.

i am sorry for the bad screenshot, i must have taken it while trying to figure the shadows out.
i would be very glad if the icon would solve the problem, but sadly, it doesn't. so thanks for the answers thus far and here's a new screenshot.

Where is your SKP you geo-referenced ?
If you toggle the top-left button on the dialog what happens to the settings?
They should become available/unavailable to edit... -
In the last screenshot > bottom, where shadows are turned on, shadows on faces (bottom left) is not checked. However it is weird as when shadows are on, that option should be active (and turned on) but it seems to be greyed out (unavailable) for you.

the model is at 49.190966N,16.611552E so the UTC+1 time zone should be fine - the shadows appear correctly at rendertime, i just miss them in the preview. no other view mode (shaded/textured/monochrome...) brings them back.
as for the toggle - as is seen on the screenshot, only the 'From Edges' option switches its state.
