Just plain 'ol fashioned painting... in Photoshop however. I used a dry brush with a dark color, set the opacity low and painted it on. I then erased some edges of the panels.
Thanks John, Tom & Numb.

Outstanding work
Now I'm going to have to go away and have a long hard think about how you modelled the panelling.
-
So, what is it?
Great modeling by the way.
-
This would be a surveillance drone? Very nicely done. Who you gonna check on?
-
Yes, that was the intent Tim. I am checking on you of course.
Thanks. And thanks David and Pete.I have another view cooking.
-
Nice flowing shapes. Any stealth technology? (probably not I guess because of those flowing shapes)
-
Thanks Steve.
Here she is all shiny and new.
-
That is just BAD
-
Very cool Eric. Is this a side project or paid work?

Just for fun. And to learn some new techniques. Always learning.
Thanks Scott. And thanks Walt.
-
That's great!
-
Eric, my kid looked at it and said " this is what you get when you cross a flashlight with a crossbow" LOL.
I see it.
no disrespect to modeling however.
Kids...tsk!!
-
Ha ha, love it. Fletch over at the Twilight forum said it looked like an underwater vehicle. All in the perception.
I think I might try a rusted one next but my playtime is about over... work is picking up big time.
Thanks Phil for the comment.

Here are some high res wire frames if interested.
-
Tour de force in modeling. Simply outstanding attention to detail.
-
Very clean modeling Eric.
-
Wow, nice job, Eric. Lots of subtle details show up in the wireframes, it looks a lot simpler than it really is like good designs should!
-
Thanks guys.
-
Man, this drone is really getting a lot of "air" time, heh heh, as it should. Please send me your brain as soon as you are through with it.
-
