      Hello all,

I have seen the topic of rotating a camera view about a point covered in this forum and elsewhere, but so far I haven't found a solution that solves my problem. What I am trying to do is recreate the view each of your eyes would see if you rotated on the spot in a room. I've made a scene in SU, and now I want to stand at the origin and save a picture for each degree of rotation (360 pics for each "eye"). I will need to have each "eye" camera looking outwards, but at a slight angle toward the midline so I can stitch them together later and make a 3D image. This would mean that the rotation for each eye would also have to be offset slightly from the origin. I've found a discussion here and on the Google Sketch up forum about this, but no solution offered the precise control I need. Anybody?

      Thanks!

      Steven

doesnt seem like there's a script like that. i suck at ruby, never tried to do anything, but it shouldn't be that hard to write that IMO.

in the meanwhile u could do it manually: also never actually tested it myself, but maybe advanced camera tools will do the trick? placing the 2 cameras on a platform and rotating the platform in 1° steps. when u safe each view as as scene (2x360 scenes, lot of work i know, i know 😞), u can batch render them with vray for sketchup. there might also be a plugin for batch exporting scenes as jpg.

also, there might be some render engines that can do stereo-images, that would save u some work

hope someone else can help, cool idea!

But all it needs is the scene-tab 'pages' made for each 'shot' ?
If he uses the correct settings as well as the images he gets those scene-tabs 'pages' made too... πŸ˜•
'Pages' is the old name for 'scene-tabs'...

                Something like this?

                • concstruct the positions of the eyes with lines
                • position camera tool: click left eye (hold down mouse button) and release at target point
                • save picture 1
                • position camera tool: click right eye (hold down mouse button) and release at same target point
                • save picture 2

Which software do you use for creating the stereo image?

                  See http://www.smustard.com/script/Stereo
as a possibility, BUT not use why it's not currently downloadable - it used to be...

Lumion might also have some capabilities you'd like...
