[SOLVE][SU8] Trouble spotlight pointlight with kerkythea
-
Hi everyone, I'm french user and English is not my speciality so sorry for mistake.
My trouble deal with the render into Kerkythea of my scene including spotlight ; which are KT spotlight component.
So as you can see in the picture below, the spot is lighting but not the hot point of the spot (where is the bulb). So how can I set it lighting like a real one ?

Light are actually only light sources, not really visible lights. You could turn those lights (the glass part) into a "fake emitter" and this way pretend as if they are emitting the light. Fake emitters only appear to be emitting light therefore they do not contribute too much in rendering time.

I don't know exactly which component are you using. Anyway a first step you can do is this: select all the light components + select the ceiling-->right click-->intersect selected. Then erase the portions of the ceiling onto the components. Most KT's light components are made with a metal inside so it should render well (see the picture below). Gai's suggestion is maybe the next step.

I did not even think of the components not cutting the ceiling, sorry.
Toto: have you placed them onto a grouped ceiling? They should go straight on a bare face (I think they are set to auto-cut a face)

i don't know if it's necessary to place the spotlight into the ceiling there.
thank you for the info massimoi made this for a friend. put the spotlight components outside the lighting components.
change the lighting component's surface with fake emitter. -
thanks for your reply, but I'm using a self-made component which modelize a builting spotlight. So I can't cut the intersection beetwen the ceiling and the KT spotlight. I realy want to keep the KT spotlight into my component to easly change the position of the object.
So I set a KT pointlight additionnaly of the KT spotlight, which I place into my spotlight component and behind the glass ; and I got the render I'm looking for, but the Kerkythea render take more time. I'll shared my skp component if you have any idea to perform my render ... I don't know how to set a fake emit light material on my object.

I don't have SU8 so I can't open your files. Anyway here is the way for setting fake emitters.

Thanks for your help ... I finally set a fake emitter material.

If you put a light behind the glass, glass will turn light to caustic light, that will render quite lot slower. Please read trough Kerkythea tutorials at http://www.kerkythea.net/forum/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=5720 They will guide you trough the basics.
