[Feature enabled] Tapatalk android / iphone app
-
Hi Guys,
I've just started using Tapatalk on my Galaxy S2 and it's superb for reading forums on the go. Unfortunately, this forum isn't updated to work with it. Do you think there's any chance that could be done? I'm sure there are a lot of android and ios users who would appreciate it!
Puck
[mod=Important note::3b7eyi6r]There were problems (conflicts) with our security software while installing/testing Tapatalk.
We hope that we have been able to iron these out but if any further conflict arises, we are dedicated to favour security over Tapatalk (especially that they fail to provide identification of their software when accessing other sites - for whatever reason).
Any liability for "wasting fee for the app" in case we turn the access off is excluded.[/mod:3b7eyi6r] -
Could we enable tapatalk on this forum guys... Would love to browse it all on my iPhone and iPad with ease!

Less than 1% use portable devices to view so it's not high on the agenda.

Rich: with all due respect, have you considered that maybe mobile usage is low because of how painful it is to use the standard forum interface on a 2 inch screen?
I am willing to bet money that mobile usage would rise dramatically if the forum addressed mobile users (tapatalk, forumrunner, or one of those alternatives mobile interfaces that kick in when the user is using a mobile browser).
Matt, you are not alone
I have brought this issue up before: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=76&t=38220&p=337611&hilit=Tapatalk#p337611
And Puck too: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=179&t=42103&p=373175&hilit=+iphone#p373175I would love to be able to browse the forums and read posts on during the moments that I am away from my computer... (metro commute, lunch time, etc.)
Maybe someday....
Cheers.

That's like TBL saying in the early nineties: "I won't bother developing WWW anymore; very few people use the Internet"

I've raised this already behind the scenes. But there are other matters that need addressing before we skin the site to be mobile friendly. I'd love to see a mobile friendly site for SketchUcation.
I'll mention it again to our guru but in the meantime feel free to start a poll to get feedback.

definitely would like to see us make this move. there are so few design forums on tapatalk and using a mobile web browser is not nearly as nice an experience as the app...

It's funny to laugh at, yes. But its also a completely true analogy. I used to try to view SCF on my phone. It was such a HORRIBLE experience, I gave up. Then I tried some months later hoping it had improved, nope!
I have not even bothered trying this new site, I was hoping it worked. I guess not?
I'm sure there must be other big problems to address first, but it would great we could do this.
BTW - I've also developed the hoverboard they used in Back to the Future 2. But since I don't see any of the kids out on the street using one, I won't bother to try to sell mine since it seems no one wants one.

Having Sketchucation on Tapatalk would be the dream come true! In fact I'll buy any other forum read app who would provided support for this forum.
-
Bump! I'm with with on this one for sure. Sketchucation is missing out on a lot of potential activity generated from people reading/commenting on their mobile devices.
-
Even on my Galaxy III this forum is difficult to view, I use wordpress on my website and recently they had a free upgrade that had an option to enable my site to be used on phones and tablets, it was one click and all went well.

Adding Free Tapatalk means members paying 0.89c to download the tapatalk app from the Appstore (or equivalent) to view the forums through Tapatalk's ad heavy system.
Purchasing a dedicated Basic licence costs $799 + $99/yr iOS Developer Program. Which means selling a dedicated app for SketchUcation.
We've the Free version on a testbed to see how this looks feels etc....but it doesn't allow us to monitor Google Analytics traffic which is incredibly important for us.
I'd would rather re-visit the site template/styling each year and build a completely bespoke system that is both Desktop and mobile friendly. Our current template has a mobile theme that is disabled as it is a bit shit after all the hacking we did to this template.

If you read my earlier reply I'm viewing this on another testing area to see if Tapatalk f@#ked things up before looking at putting it live.
If you wanna test it I'll PM the link but you need that Tapatalk app installed on your girlie phone

Installed Tapatalk, lets see how it works

I posted in Premium members general discussions on test site
