Thanks, I'll have a look at it - by the way you attach modestly sized zips etc like this direct to your posts... πŸ˜•

        Here's an updated version http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=284829#p284829
        v1.8 - Typos in Import-CSV fixed to allow -ve values, z=0 & no z.
I had some stupid code errors that meant that xyz values with any negative numbers were skipped and also they were getting skipped if z didn't exist or was 0 πŸ˜’
        Now all fixed... πŸ˜„

George - your CSV now works perfectly! two 24 point circles one above the other, and one cpoint at the origin - 49 in all...

          Forgive me, TIG.

            😍 Yes !!!

The CSV import in LL/Z units works perfectly as well !!!

Is it possible to change at least one point coordinate to the real wgs84 coordinate? And after it all coordinates will be exported relative to this georefareted point??

You set a datum and that fixes [0,0,0] as what you've entered ?
                      I'm unsure I understand you otherwise ??

I rewrite the La/Lo value ("setting, than Add"). From the 0/0/0 onto the good value. But "Exportvertices2csv.new" takes the origin as former, as 0,0,0. Not example as 47,284395N, 19,042568E.

Dear TIG - fantastic plugin - thank you.

I was wondering if there was a way to customise what the label actually displays. In my application I would like to tag certain points with the elevation only. Even better if the label format could be customised - e.g. "RL 10.454 m".

                          Regards

There's my separate tool 'Add-Height-From-Datum' that does this ... http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=193238#p193238
OR use setting 'XY' to '<None>' and 'Z' to 'feet' ['] makes the
tag display as "Z: 1.234" [i.e. in 'feet'].
IF it must say 'RL' then you might be better off getting the 'Height' tool and editing the code that .rb file using Notepad.exe so that
                              txt="Height: "
                              becomes
                              txt="RL "

                                Hi TIG,

Thanks a lot for your work!
I'm not sure if I follow all the way, but I have following question:
I'm looking for a way to incorporate GPS coordinate 'points' onto a geo-referenced houseplan. We need to set up a so called 'tree-plan' on which the surrounding trees are indicated.
My idea would be to 'import' the GPS location, then draw a circle with the approximate tree diameter.

Here's a link to an example map: http://www.natuurenbos.be/~/media/Files/Themas/Groen/Bomen/Bomenplan_ANB.pdf#page=33

                                Thanks a lot!

                                Erwin

                                OOPS! 😳

Must have been late last night..
I see I missed 5 pages of posts..
It seems like what I ask is all there. I'll have a go at it and report back if I have any questions.
Thanks for your magnificent tools!! πŸ€“

                                  Hi TIG,

Another excellent plugin, although I am having a few issues with it. I am trying to use it to generate lat/long points for a kmz animation for which I need absolute accuracy. Problems include:

                                  1. I will have many hundreds of points. I had them numbered but then the plugin overwrote all of the numbers with the coords. Without numbering it would be impossible to work out from the CSV which point is which. Is it possible to have an option to append the coords to the existing text please, or add text after plotting but before exporting?

                                  2. I need 7 decimal places of lat/long. Is that possible please? Without it the accuracy isn't good enough. I tried changing XY-DP to 7 in Settings but it did nothing. I see that this plugin has 13 decimal places: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?t=31219

                                  3. When I preview the model in Google Earth and grab the coords of a point using a placemark, the result is significantly different from what the plugin gives me for the same point. For example for one point the GE placemark latitude was 40.98419446848751. With the plugin it was 40.984196. That difference equates to 180mm and makes it unusable for my project.

                                  4. I need decimal lat/long with negative values for south / west. ie. 12.3456 rather than eg. 12.3456N

                                  5. There is something else that I would love as part of this plugin (if the above can be addressed) to save a lot of tedious work generating animation data. That is heading, tilt and roll. What I envisage is inserting a specific component at the point in question that gives you the heading, tilt and roll.

The component would be named "vectors". It would be located with its origin at the point, with its Y axis (green) representing Heading and Tilt, and its X (red) axis representing roll. Could the plugin look for such a component at the selected point and if it exists, it adds the additional data to the output. Something like: LLZHTR: 40.984124N. 111.895609W. 3.184 354.35 -2.7 4.23

Actually, when combined with the existing text request, it would be TLLZHTR: "existing text blah blah" 40.984124N. 111.895609W. 3.184 354.35 -2.7 4.23

NB. Heading downhill is positive tilt. Leaning to the left is positive roll.

Ok, I decided to implement some of the above.

                                    • I changed the code so that it uses XY-DP for the latitude and longitude decimal places to allow more than 6.

                                    • I added a new option to Settings "LatLong Format". It can contain either "NSEW" or "+-". If NSEW then it outputs as at present with N, S, E or W appended to the end of the lat/long values. If set to +- then it outputs as positive or negative numbers without the suffixes.

                                    • I added a message when the CSV file is written. Previously there was no message so I assumed the command had failed, not realizing it had actually worked.

                                    Here is the new code:...
EDIT [TIG]: Sorry but I removed your version - my new version v2.0 does everything you needed and having various versions is to say the least a recipe for confusion, you are of course welcome to make and use modified versions [like your NSEW +/- options], but distributing them under the same banner is not advisable...

                                    Regards
                                    Peter

                                      Here's v2.0 http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=284829#p284829
                                      Inputbox code improved.
                                      Field-Separator corrected to ,/; for ./, decimal-points
LatLong now has variable dp, like XYZ values
'Text2Tag' now has option to keep original text as 'Prefix='
'Prefix' option also added to the 'Add' dialog and for Import-CSV [as optional 4th column]
Also Export-CSV has option to make its 1st column [#] as 'Prefix='
New Message-boxes now tell you when Import and Export are completed.
Manually editing a Tag does not change its contents [as before]... unless the new text ends with "=", then it's taken as a new Prefix for that Tag - so if it reads "1.2, 3.4, 5.6" OR even already has a Prefix like "#ptM=1.2, 3.4, 5.6" then typing in ptQ= will change it to "#ptQ=1.2, 3.4, 5.6" - this is quick way to add point-reference Prefixes to existing Tags, without you having to turn them into plain-text, add the prefix text and finally turn then back into Tags! The Prefix= text is useful in identifying points that have been exported to CSV when the optional extra 1st column is chosen...

                                      TIG

                                        Thanks for the prompt response.

Does V2.0 include the option for the +/- decimal format of the lat/long please, which is the standard displayed on Google Earth and used in KML?

Any chances on the heading/tilt/roll options please? If not are you able to offer any Ruby tips to allow me to implement something please? It would hugely simplify animation coding.

Is that the format used in your briefly edited version ?
If so, and we can agree a correct way forward, I could probably include something in v2.1 'tomorrow'... πŸ˜•

As for the pitch/roll/yaw camera issue perhaps this deserves a separate thread ?
Feel free to PM me about it before we all jump into some frantic [re]coding... πŸ€“
