Blue Screen

Hello Fellow Skecthee's
I was happy with just doing sketchup before to all my projects (although im quite impressed how people do render their work in vray), until my wife introduced me again vray for sketchup 8. We belong to a different office and thats what they use for presentation.
I was ready to use the demo version but somehow between rendering process, my screen turns blue and restarts. I know i dont have the latest hardwares but Im also a self confessed PC games addict (from time to time when there is time to kill). Do Vray demands more hardware power (video card) than my FPS (Dues ex) gaming? I do games for hours but in vray it flops for not more than 30 minutes.
Or do anyone think its the software that I should update it. I dont have constant internet since projects arent doing so well for the past 2 years.
So...need help...
Thanks in advance
Keep on sketching...

My advice is to make sure you have the latest 1.49.01. Vray does not put any demand on your graphics card. Renders will take longer on a machine with a low end processor and because SU is stuck in a 32 bit environment, you cant really access any more than 4GB of memory. I render using an i7 processor and have great render times.

valero,
you mean to say its most probable that its my processor?

Not correct. 64bit isnot equal to speed. In fact, it might very well be slower because the data types are double the size. 64bit over 32bit only means one can address more memory.

With 64 bit you will be able access to more memory, so you will be able to render higher resolution images and higher poly models. i7 processors are multithreaded and Windows will see 8 cores, so Vray see's 8 cores and you will get 8 render buckets. I found that my i7 renders at least twice as fast if not more than my last workstation which was a high end Xeon. I cant imagine that SU will be slower in a 64 bit environment. I was using 32 bit Photoshop for the longest time and when I went to 64 bit it was night and day. Much faster and more responsive, even it its just an illusion because I access to more memory.
