Don't update your Nvidia driver
-
I just tried the new driver release from Nvidia ver. 285.79, sadly it doesnt fix the issues with openGL; specifically, the mouse and tools trails that have been happening in versions 285.38 and 285.62. This reallly is making me consider ATI, Nvidia, get your act together or lose a long time user.

Interesting. Traditionally nVidia has been much better than ati for sketchup. Have you found an older driver that works for you? I haven't updated my driver in a long time. It always seemed good in theory but at best I noticed no improvements. At worst, it caused new issues.

No issues with the Quadro drivers they work fine -- it's seems this is just gamer card driver problems.
Best,
Jason. -
the recent updates are mostly aimed at BF3 problems.

I just updated yesterday to 285.62 WHQL, I bought a GeForce GTX 590 (to use for Lumion) so far it's all great, running 3 monitors, SU issues all sorted out (was having an issue with previous driver)

Sorry to hear about your problems.
I have a GTX 570 and just updated to 285.79 with no problems in SU
Could it be something else.WOW Pete a GTX 590. Id love to give that a spin on a few games.

It's Santa's gift to Pete oh, and it's also most needed as animation has become a pretty lucrative part of my recent commissions.

590 baby... hope you have room for a few more 590's on that board. next year!

Battlefield 3.
I didn't see anything in the release notes that would compel me to upgrade. It all appears to be pointed at improvements for specific games, none of which I care about.

Could be a garbled driver installation by installing over new driver releases again and again.
A clean install may fix these issues:
β’ uninstall recent driver installation by "Control Panle > Software..." preferrably with admin. rights
β’ restart Windows
β’ install recent driver version preferrably with admin. rights
β’ restart WindowsDisabling the 'fast feedback' option of the SU OpenGL settings should have an impact on these type of issues too.
