(although the email I received called it "CtachUp", minor blip).

I should add that in my research for this book, I found a high proportion of people that used SketchUp suffered from mild to severe forms of dyslexia. Many were also gifted with autism. SketchUp is a brilliant tool for children with autism. You should have a look at all the research done by Google and Project Spectrum in the USA. It's quite wonderful!

It must be a real pleasure to see the smiles that SketchUp puts on kids faces.
      Congratulations on the book πŸ‘

        Congratulations.
Although I suspect some will be critical, I think it is a logical step in "SketchUcation" process, and if it is as well presented as "CatchUp" I think you will do well.

        Best of Luck.

Thanks Dale for your show of support. However I really can't see any reason why anyone would be 'critical' of SketchUcation's Mini Publications venture when its offering good people like Tom Fenn / tfdesign an opportunity to get his book published. We will do this for any member here and have a number of them working feverishly at the moment on Mini Publications.

The "CtachUp" (minor blip'" was unfortunate but we have now doubled up on proofing reading before issue.

very nice initiative, mike and partners. it is not always easy to find a publisher for a book that caters for a small market niche, although sketchup has more users that any other modeling app. well done! I look forward to seeing other titles from this new publisher.

                  Thanks Gareth, much appreciated.

We hope to be putting more Mini Publications on book shelf soon as we have some SketchUp Experts Authors busy compiling their publications. However we are always looking for new Authors to get involved.

I should mention that while we are generally targeting books in the region of 40-50 pages that would retails for $4.95, we are also interested in hearing from Authors that might be interested in doing shorter publications of possibly 15-20 pages that would retail for less, possibly starting at $1.95. These would in essence be elaborate tutorials.

If anyone has any questions please shoot me a PM.

                  Mike

                    Mike,

I have contemplated doing one, however with the amount of SU books out at the moment it looks like everything has been covered over and over again.

Pete, there is always room for good books. The idea behind Mini Publications is that they would be short, easy to read / understand and low cost. I find that many of what is out there at present is too comprehensive.

Many people these days aren't even willing to read long instructions ..... they want bullet points. I suppose the reason is because we are bombarded with info these days and just want to get to the core issue / matter to be learned.

Of course a group of Mini Publications could build into a linked collection which is essence would be the equivalent of a (many page) book!

The idea is to have MPs that are small bite sizes that will appeal to readers / learners.

You bow out easily Pete! I'd love to see a book by you on rendering, because my book would be quite basic. You could do a master's guide to rendering in SketchUp. The trick with making books is to make them better than the previous efforts, even if the subject has already been done to death. πŸ˜„ πŸ’

I'm surprised that tfdesign is not in the "Top SketchUcators" group.
