I am trying to export the exr file. I checked the path, created the folder etc. I turned preview off and camera off. I have GI set to .8

Could any of those be the culprit? Vray says its rendering, but no file shows up in the folder.

      Any advice? Thankyou.

And mention exactly what version of VfSU you use.

I wouldnt turn the preview off. I have found issues with this. Just set it to have the preview on, that way you can see the progress.
