    I'm liking seeing the green name tags around the forum. It does feel distinguished and nice.

    Lately you've been tan, suspicious for the winter.

            Love this idea. I mentally curtesy when I see a coloured name anyway. πŸ‘

                That color is reserved for forum trolls πŸ˜„

                Also, what would a 'Top SketchUcator / Last Challenge Winner' color look like?

                  That would be Eric; and that would be a mixture of green and purple...sounds like a yukky brown to me. πŸ’š

                    I think Gaieus is still considering a color level designation for "village idiot" or "Class Clown".

                    that way he can be more precise in how to categorize me. .. πŸ’š

                      Actually, to me, the easiest and simplest would have been to leave everyone blue (when you are put in a special UG, your username will become bold anyway). This is also why all admins and mods (still) wear the blue...

                      But now as you mention, that pink would go nicely with the top sketchucators! πŸ˜„

                        Cool idea with the color change. I sort of loath some of the other forums where everyone has 18 badges and icons next to their name. I appreciate this more minimalistic approach to distinguishing some of the more prolific posters here πŸ˜„

                            This is a comment rather than a reply to any one person.
                            In the days since the "green designation" came about, I have thought about whether I measure up to the expectations whether real or imagined.
                            I originally got involved in this forum based on the following:

                            First Principle: I am not smarter than the aggregate population. This just means that there are enough people much smarter than me out there that I can learn from, and I seek that knowledge.

                            Second Principle: follow Hippocrates' advice.

                            Seek understanding of Sketchup, Rendering, and other tools of expression to the best of my ability.
                            Seek understanding of others with similar interests.
                            Seek understanding of Self.
                            Share acquired knowledge that those around me have been so generous to share with me.

                            Believe that, even an imperfect response by me can elicit a better, more accurate answer from someone else.

                            If this seems like bullshit to you, then I can't help that. At least I got it off my chest.

                            I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.

                                  @mitcorb

                                  The reasoning behind 'SketchUcator' was to allow new/infrequent/non contributing members that when the 'Sketchucator' responds to your question or starts a topic it's solid. This 'title' is not based on post count or user level. It's based on community spirit. We felt there were members that who added to the forums but weren't actually recognised by any ranking system or accolade or whatever.

                                  This 'Top SketchUcator' title is designed to grow. If you feel you contribute here then let any mod/admin know we missed you in the drafting. Already this week I've seen 4 or 5 members that I immediately thought 'shit, I never suggested *******'.

                                  There are also members in the group who chose not to wear the 'Green Jersey' and that's perfectly fine too.

                                  But the main purpose was to highlight that a 'Sketchucator' is not only somewhat familiar with SketchUp but with SketchUcation too. They know how to point someone in the right direction when they may not necessarily know how to perform a certain technique or achieve a certain result. But they do know how to respect the community. And that is the most valued part of this for me.

                                  Also, all 'SketchUcators' get $50,000 a year......except David.....he gets $100,000 ('by year' I mean Pluto years)

                                    @Rich:
                                    Thanks. Most of that was kind of my understanding. Not sure about that open ended implied contract at the end, though. Somebody might be getting shorted somehow πŸ’š
