One shot plugin

Its sounds handy. I wrote something similar for myself that made drywall (sheetrock) in 3 clicks. One at each corner, then one in the direction to extrude. It made the geometry and extruded it and grouped it and put it on a drywall layer. Yours is only slightly different where you would want to allow multiple clicks. The programming is a bit different than what my tool needed, but its totally do-able. Maybe put a request in the plugins form. See if anyone has some time to make it. I'm currently out of time in my life

Hi, I'm searching for a plugin (if exist...) that do this in one shot (like "draw a box" in sketchy solids):
- draw with mouse inputs a coplanar polyline closed.
- extrude (mouse input)
- make a group
Thanks in advance
CC
cc, try the attached plugin. maybe it does what you want. with the mouse, pick a start point, move mouse to opposite corner of rectangle and pick a point. point 3 sets the height of the "box" which is group.

sdmitch,
Dude you rock, you are fast on the code, thanks mate for stepping up in our needs.
I've been wishing for something like this for SU, I'm wondering if you could look at it, ponder it, and maybe even if it's a huge endeavor consider making it either free or commercially.

don't the sketchy physics solids "create a box" do that?

I'm sure it does and no doubt a much better job.

Your estimation of my abilities are far from reality. I'm still a novice. Something like archipelis is way beyond me.

No harm in asking.
I'll contact Dale Martins (Whaat) and see if he has time.

Pete,
Have you tried TGI3d? The new image matching feature does this type ofbehaviour to a degree.

Rich,
Amorph or Photo?

TGI3D Amorph = $149
TGI3D Photoscan = $999Archipelis 3d = 19 Euros
Archipelis Designer = 38 EurosAnd Archipelis has SU integration...i know TGI3D probably has more powerful mesh manipulation features, but...
