Warehouse downloads not showing in totals
-
When I download a model (not my own) from the warehouse, the downloads total for that model does not change. If it showed the total downloads as "0", it is still "0" after I download the model. Days later, still "0". Jeez the Warehouse is getting twitchy. Any ideas as to why this is happening?

My only concern with this is that the person who took the time to create the model is (apparently) not getting credit when somebody deems that model worthy of downloading. I understand why you can't do this with your own models, some people would try to inflate the popularity of their models, but I don't understand why this is happening with other people's models. Nobody has any ideas on this?

The only suggestion I can give is to ask here

Maybe they're doing some work on the backend and stats aren't updating as frequently?

The WH statistics have never been accurate and up-to-date. It more or less reflects a sort of average on a weekly basis.

You're kidding, right? Why would they not be accurate and up-to-date? Why on earth would it just be an average, on a weekly basis? You download a model, the number of downloads increases by one. How difficult can it be to have it set up that way? I realize that Google has gotten grossly huge and to them SU is no more than loose change in the couch and most of it's time is taken up with trying to buy everything in the world/universe, but you'd think they could devote at least a tiny portion of their vast resources to properly support the community that they created. I really think that when a company reaches a certain size it should be required to be broken up into smaller independent companies. Probably doesn't matter, the world is on it's last legs anyhow. But still, it's annoying.
Uncalled-for rant now concluded, have a good one -
No kidding - read it somewhere.

The Googlers say most numbers/statistics in 3dwh are made from the Search Index. I don't know the technical reasons but I think it's similar like the Google Web Search index which is never up-to-date and complete. For example, alos the number of models per user fluctuates.

Do you think about a certain (imaginary) company called "@Next" ?
