Can not Import DAE into Blender

Testing the 8 hours Sketchup-8 Pro before spending £ 330 I am trying to import an exported by it DAE and a 3DS file into Blender and neither show.

try Babel 3D (save your file in SU V7 , then import in OBJ in Blender

If I pay for something then I expect it to work without having to use other programs.
And I can do without adverts in my threads, thank you.

I think you maybe talking about 'Ad Machine' which isn't a member but a means of displaying adverts within threads. It's an automated system we run here so you'll see it again when you return. Hopefully it won't make you follow through with your threat. It will not appear after posting a certain number of times.
As for your DAE/3DS issue, is it a problem with Blender or SU?

Don't know what happened to my previous reply, so here it is again:
It is a problem with importing exported from SU DAE, 3DS and DXF files into Blender and 3DC, I have also asked a question about in their forums.
A SU member suggested trying to re-import them into SU which worked but not at the same quality as their SU originals.
Before I spend £ 330 I must be sure that it does what I want to use if for !
Having tried to buy it before am being told by it's web site forms that a page can not be found, which a support person tells me is a known to them problem with IE8 and would I try using another web browser ?
They must be joking, having to do that just to buy SU-8 Pro !!!
Was hoping that somebody else here could shed some light on why it is not working while I wait for an answer elsewhere.
I just HATE advertising and have it turned off wherever possible, being of no interest to me and an intrusion into what I am doing on-line !
The same when watching TV, turning off the sound when they show !

Well, this is what keeps these forums running financially.
Anyway, try to download and install SU 6 or SU 7 . Google changes something in the exporter in each version and they may export in a format Blender can also import (although it is Blender's importer being outdated in this case IMO).
Also note this is week-end and already summer time. There are less people hanging out on the forums nowadays especially with so specific knowledge.

The ref thread seems to indicate a blender bug and in fact I had submitted a blunder bug report before their latest release along with others and supposedly the problem had been fixed. Either it was not incorporated in the latest release or they did not have the correct solution.
Try a different program to see if it is SU or Blender. -

Somebody suggested the German LTplus_SketchUP plug-in to export from SU to DXF and that worked importing into 3DC-Pro, albeit the objects textures not showing.
It's in the 3DC court now.
