    Hi

I downloaded some audi TT somewhere off the net and i imported it in Sketchup only to realise that when i rendered this without any of my own touch ups, it had also imported the vray settings of the cars materials and it looked fantastic... i dont recall where i got it from though...

My question is, is it possible to save a component in SU which i have already applied vray materials to (for example; reflection, bump etc) so that next time i use this component it is automatically mapped to vray materials? Not sure hwo this was done by the TT but it worked great!

    Hoping that makes sense...

Any assistance would be appreciated guys!

    Thanks
    S

It used to work... but the latest version is bugged so the materials of imported components doesn't come in properly.
Used to, a few released ago though.

What version number do you use?

Yea - been waiting for a new release - but the merger has caused delays.

My understanding is that they are focusing on getting VR for Rhino up to speed and whatever bugs they fix for that release will be in a new release for the SketchUp plug-in. Not sure how long this is going to take. Since the merger, things are fairly quiet over there.

Yeah, we're still working on VfR. We're hoping to have it in good working condition by Siggraph, but we'll see how things go. If you think we're being quiet, you should ask us questions on our forum πŸ˜‰

haha it might be quiet, but I see smoke coming out of Devin's ears as he's working on all those bug fixes πŸ˜†
I have high expectations for the next vfsu beta!

I have actuallty realised that this DOES WORK in Vray 1.49.01. All materials when imported were still mapped and it rendered correctly...... no idea whats going on here πŸ˜•

I think the same things happens for files on the same computer... re-opening a file with vray materials it sometimes forgets vray material settings πŸ˜•

P.s: Devin, the ability to copy a Layer between materials would be awesome!!
