Crash Vray Sketchup
-
Sounds like you don't have enough memory to process all those polygons. Both the fur/grass and the trees probably have a lot of polygons, so together it may be too much. Can you look in the Model Info window and see how many faces are in the model? And what are the specs on your computer?

How much memory does Sketchup.exe consume right before it crashes?
Also, what version of VfSU do you use? (Important info to include when asking questions.)
And what SketchUp version do you use? SU8 Maintenance Release 1 allows you to use more memory if you have a 64bit OS. -
Thank you very much for taking your time answering my question...
sorry ...i have a mac book pro ..core I7 with 8 GB in RAM....
i am using google sketchup 8. and vray 1.49.01 the educational version...
it haves....edges 1799147
faces 522551
components instance 26222
thankyou again -
That's a sizeable model, but a good machine. I'm going to go with a corrupt texture map... don't know if it is still a problem with Vray 1.49.01, but that was the most common cause of crashes for me on the previous version(s).
Easy test: in the Vray options, turn on the material override and render. If everything works, then it's most likely a texture map. If it renders, then try rendering a preview of one material at a time in the Vray Material Editor. The preview of the offending material often crashed my SU just like a full render did.
