Sketchup crashes on renders
-
I had a sketchup site model of a various types housing clusters with varying heights of 15 floors. I have Intel Core2Quad Processor with 4 GB RAM. I have sketchup pro 8 and vray 1.48.66. everytime I hit the render button, vray processes the scene for sometime, after that sketchup crashes. The model is 18.6 mb in size. I have rendered larger models upto 28 mb in sketchup but never faced that problem. Maybe there's a lot of detailing in this. I have made groups and components. In fact all the people in my class are facing similar problems. No one is able to render a site model of their housing projects in sketchup or revit. Even processors like i5 with 6 gb ram are not able to handle the load. Everyone has planned for undrendered views only. Is there a way out of this problem??

You're using an old, very buggy, version.
Latest version is 1.49.01. http://software.asgvis.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=182&Itemid=480In general, when you experience problems with a software, it's best to ensure you are running the latest available version before further troubleshooting.

They also have crashes?
When you say "version 1" - do you mean the very first version where materials weren't even automatically synced?
