WIP - Officers Tactical Battlepod (Glaug)
-
Here's the legs with feet -- I had some cooler looking feet made that were a bit more faithful to the design but they could not achieve the articulation I wanted so I took some liberties to make them a bit more functional for moving. I may still do some tweaking but at this point I could consider them done... I've rigged the legs to get them ready to do a bit of DC animation based posing functionality (just like I built into the arms). This will allow me to "pose" each leg individually with just a click -- a very handy thing when you have a army of these guys Best,
 Jason.

I'm still working on this between some other things -- here's all the parts together, at this point it is mostly little details and cleanup (as far as modelling). Best,
 Jason.

-
Yummy Any chance of some SU output?
-
Sure Rich, here's a shot from Sketchup... I'll make the model available to anybody who wants it after I'm done. Best,
 Jason.

-
Thanks Jason I always like to see SU output on SCF. It deserves be shown IMO.
-
I'm playing with the idea of using some sort of metallic finish as the base for most of this -- as opposed to the standard military matte-finish drab paint... the basic idea was to "sex" it up a bit and show off the curves a bit (the same reason they paint cars in metallic flake paint). Any thoughts? Best,
 Jason.

-
ooh. add some panel lines for "Factory Finish" .... or like that put it on a Desk as a toy
-
Thank-you for the feedback for context here's a render with a matte type paint finish. for context here's a render with a matte type paint finish.Best,
 Jason.

 Excellent work, jason!
Both renders are very good, but I like the second more. Especially if you could give him some battle worn/weathered look. Once again, excellent work.
-
Thanks for the feedback -- I've been agonizing over which pose I should use... here's one of the better ones I think. Agree or Disagree?
  Best,
 Jason.
-
 I agree.
But I would like to see it from a different angle - from an inferior position, more like "worm's-eye view".
-
This isn't exactly a worms-eye view because when we get too small the perspective gets a bit crazy (this thing is about 150 ft tall)... but here is a more aggressive camera angle. Best,
 Jason.
-
 ThatΒ΄s more like it!

I found a nice free HDRI of the milky way that I used since My ultimate goal is a space battle I thought it appropriate.
  Best,
 Jason.
-
 here's a bit of post.

Jason.Altogether neat! I preferred the shiny one though. That's a neat HDRI: care to say where you got it?
-
Yes, I would like to know as well. However, there is one in the sIBL archive http://www.hdrlabs.com/sibl/archive.html
-
That's the one -- author: Blochi, named: Milkyway... There are also some you can buy on the Dosch site but since I can't expect the people watching my videos to go buy the set I used the free one on sIBL archive (which is fantastic, free or not, thanks NASA!) Best,
 Jason.
