I.materialise 3D printed lamp Design Challenge
-
Looking forward to seeing it Oli
-
Oli, here are some good tips to photograph 3D printed models...looking forward to seeing pics!
This lamp challenge should be interesting, those example pictures are amazing
-
kinda wish the prize was 'and we'll print a model of your choice' instead of 'and we'll print the lamp for you'
i mean, who wants a 3D print of a lamp?
-
Oh! This looks like fun! And they even give you the basic framework model!
-
cheers d12, although I've had LOTS of experience photographing my architectural models at university. I had to learn by trial and error though!! and i came to the same conclusions as the tutorial you linked me to! I wish i had that link a year or so ago!! getting a nice bright day is hard enough (in manchester anyway!!)....always looks better with natural light i think.
Its a white model, so maybe I'll go for a black background with a white 'light tent' around it.

Oli, are you pulling our legs? Get your phone out and take a pic and post it so we can see what it looks like. After that you can take all the time in the world to compose the 'ideal' shot If we have to wait for the ideal day in Manchester we will never see it now that Winter is coming on

we're waiting Oli...

Not a good idea, try a warm grey for background, reduce dynamics I mean. And use something more decent than iphone.

Make a darn render of the model and post it for the guys!
-
I had to pass on this one. After seeing the past winners, I realized I'm not quite that good yet.
Maybe next year.
-
I completely forgot about photographing the model....
Here is a taster (with my phone lol)....I will take some proper photos this weekend. Promise!! I'm so scared that I'll break it!
If not I'll just render it haha

Must be spring time. Oli's outta hibernation.
