          @oli

          I met those guys at 3dbc and they were very happy with your model. I also asked for pics as I think it deserves a mention here again.

          If you do post some pics could you place a common object in the scene to reflect it's scale?

                  kinda wish the prize was 'and we'll print a model of your choice' instead of 'and we'll print the lamp for you'

                  i mean, who wants a 3D print of a lamp? πŸ˜„

                      cheers d12, although I've had LOTS of experience photographing my architectural models at university. I had to learn by trial and error though!! and i came to the same conclusions as the tutorial you linked me to! I wish i had that link a year or so ago!! πŸ˜„ getting a nice bright day is hard enough (in manchester anyway!!)....always looks better with natural light i think.

                      Its a white model, so maybe I'll go for a black background with a white 'light tent' around it.

                        Oli, are you pulling our legs? πŸ˜† Get your phone out and take a pic and post it so we can see what it looks like. After that you can take all the time in the world to compose the 'ideal' shot πŸ‘ If we have to wait for the ideal day in Manchester we will never see it now that Winter is coming on πŸ˜’

                          Not a good idea, try a warm grey for background, reduce dynamics I mean. And use something more decent than iphone. πŸ˜†

                              I had to pass on this one. After seeing the past winners, I realized I'm not quite that good yet.

                              Maybe next year.
