Why are there less paint options on 8

Hi All
I could never get Sketchup 7 to work on my Vista computer. Sketchup 8 appears to work well, however I see there are considerably less paint options on 8. I have 42 Wood options on 6 but only 10 on 8. The same goes for Stone. Is there away of moving these added options over to 8 before I unistall 6?

PaulAny Components, Styles or Materials you have in sub-folders within v6 [or v7] can be copied into similar folders in the v8 folder set-up. The formats of the file types are the same since v6. So any additional materials you have in an earlier version can be copied over quite easily.
