Semi-random push pull ?
-
push pull randomly to specified heights ?
hello ... is there a ruby which you can selected a bunch of faces and then input a range of distances for these faces to be extruded to and then hit random generate ?
-
think the Greeble plugin does that... ?
-
close to what it would love to have not not quite ...
for eg: ...
if i specify that i would like to extrude all the selected faces to the following heights ... 9m, 12m, 16m ... greeble gives you a min / max in which i would get a height of 10.67m and 11.43m etc ...

That is a piece of code I've written about a dozen times at work for my own use in city planning. I've promied it to about a hundred different people.
Maybe I can just sit down and write a really quick version of it for you.

Hi,
This tool exists; TIG wrote it, that's "random push pull".
Download it here: http://rhin.crai.archi.fr/RubyLibraryDepot/plugin_details.php?id=321 -
Thanks Didier! I thought I had written it a while ago

It's all very well rolling your eyes TIG, but I think the problem lies with the sheer amount of plugins that exist for SketchUp, and where is the best place to find them, and find out too what each of them do. Simple plugin titles in many cases simply don't provide enough information to how each work. Smustard did a fairly good job with letting people understand what each individual plugin does- but its database is so small, compared to what is actually out there.
A much better database is what is needed. But how to go about achieving that, is anyone's guess.

We came so close here on this forum once. I would love to see a true database come to be. With links to where pluding are hosted, easily updateable price info, authors are in control of their own information, incorporates tutorials (html, video, pdf, etc). We had about 80% of that up and running once. That would be so awesome to see happen again. Google would unnofficialy support it if someone could get it going.

Hi Pilou,
T'as une vieille version... Le pousser-tirer aléatoire était un mélange entre le script de TIG et un truc à moi.
-
It's a pity that is not in the new toolbarr Projection
