I apologize if these are silly questions, but I don't even know where to look to figure these out.

IT just gave me a new computer, so I have a new installation of Vray for SketchUp 7.1. First, I assume it is a newer version of Vray because the icons look different and I can't find the version number. So that's my first question: how do I find my Vray version number? Nevermind, I just found it: 1.48.89, the newest version.

Second, I hit render on a simple scene of three objects and it worked great. Then I opened a model I'm working on, hit render, the status bar says processing... and then nothing! After a few seconds, I can navigate my model, the frame buffer never opened, no rendering, nothing! The model is relatively simple--a few floor plates, some glass walls, an a couple escalator components (that I built from scratch... everything is from scratch). I haven't applied many materials, one with a texture (png, 800px x 800px).

    Any suggestions?

Report this to ASGVis. It might be fixed in the latest beta, but let them know about issues like this.

Was the model created when you had the old version of Vray installed? I've had trouble sometimes with old models not rendering. Try loading the default options setting and see if that works. You can also get some current "visopt" settings from the asgvis site.

i know this might sound silly, maybe it is, since im not having this new version of vray.. 😆
but have you tried to copy your scene to a new file then try to render again?

          goodluck,

          still so much to learn..
