Great to see an update! I remember your post about UV mapping materials to the hull. You nailed it (pardon the pun). Did you figure out how to do it with Whaat's plugin? Or just sampled with Alt?
I've spent alot of time with Roadkill trying to establish a good workflow but not much success.
Looks great so far

Looking great indeed.
I also would like to take note about the use of uv plugin, because I'm having trouble with it.Your model is going out great!
Closer looks please -
Hi Karina and Rich,
thanks for your nice comments. With these damn UV tools I've also made no progress. In this case I used a projected texture.

Wow. Looking good!
I'm having trouble with boat hulls and compound curved surfaces in general. Do you know of any good tutorials for these?

Charly, that's a nice looking model. Have you seen Nina and Pinta? In August, the replicas were visiting in the marina where we keep our boat so we had a tour. These might give you some ideas about details for your model. Also notice the color. In the days of the real Santa Maria the wood was coated with pine tar or oil to prevent rot. It would make the wood look almost black.
