[Talk] Plugins Index
-
@Jim:
Thank you for your good work. -
Though I've noticed a few people get credit for plugins that did not write them. Earthmover for example. He requested a plugin, and it was later deliveder within his request thread. Then the request thread became a [Plugin] thread, and now it looks like Earthmover wrote it. But I think it was TIG.
There are a few instances of that. But other than that, the list is inredible! Quite the repository we have here!

Great list! However I don't know if it's just me and my browser (Safari), but the names are very close. See pic.

I used a small font to make the page a bit shorter, and it doesn't look so bad on my screen (different installed fonts, maybe?) I'll go back to the default font. Thanks Rick.

Maybe I should say this is a list of plugin which have been uploaded to this forum. My guess is that it represents only about 1/4 of all the available plugins.
-
Well, Jim:
TIG has already posted at least two more scripts while you may not have been looking.
FWIW: I am not seeing the crowded effect in the fonts. -
Author attribution has been updated - plugins should be listed under their actual author rather than the person who posted the link.

@Jim

Thanks!
2010-09-07:
- Removed [Plugin] tag from list - seemed unnecessary.
- Alphabetized each author's plugins list.

Authors are encouraged to go back and edit old topics to include version numbers, dates, etc. Any changes will be picked up faster if you notify me of changes.

Excellent list Jim. Keep up the good work, and thanks too!

Hey Jim, thank you so very much.
-
thanks. just found the list.

hello ...
Im knowingly going to post this expecting some hostle response ...
Would it be possible to have a link at the end of the plugin index to "Download All" in a zip file ?
-
No hostile response at all.
However to archive all into one ZIP file and also to maintain that archive with the latest releases would need someone to do that every day (I know no way of automating it).
Also, by this time I don't even know how big that archive would be (could definitely not be attached here). Maybe it would be a kind of "luxury" (for the bandwidth) to allow the whole archive even though it is obvious that no-one would ever need allthe plugins listed above
-
True that the files would be large ...
How about grouping the plugins into categories ...
-
Chris,
Can i ask what is it you find is the issue with this index or plugins at SCF in general? I'm on a fact finding mission here not a witch hunt to see if we can improve it. So your comments are valued.

Added Adam's Goldilock 2.0 (was missing as it did not have the [Plugin] tag in the subject - added that, too)

The list isn't manually maintained. It is generated from the Title of each post, which must use the [Plugin] notation in order to be included. Categories could be implemented, but then each title (or post) would need to be edited to include some type of category information in a consistent format.

Is it possible that we connect this plugins index to Ruby Library Depot and Smustard..so SCF members get notifications here only??
