Travelling long distance?
-
I'm not traveling all that far, just flying south to go west. I fly from my local airport straight south to Dallas then to Denver. American Airlines the whole way, so you kind of scare me with your comments, Pete. Alternatively if I were to drive straight west for 7 hours I'd be in Denver...and anyone who has driven interstate-70 through Kansas will tell you it is definitely straight.
-
Wyatt, I'm sure it will be fine, I just have a habit of getting on the 'not so fit looking' attendants nerves for some reason.
I see you from Manhattan Kansas, Tom (Tomdesk) has recently moved there for what it's worth.
That drive is almost as bad as Dallas to El Paso, uhggg!! what a dreadful boring drive. -
Not as long as Dale's drive but I have to go across Nebraska. The long way!
Leaving this evening about 5:00 pm after a full day of work. Hoping to make Omaha before quitting for the night. My wife and son are coming, too and we're going to spend a few days with some of her distant relatives. She'll dump me at the hotel around 2:00pm on Tuesday.
-
To all that are travelling this weekend, be safe, and see ya in da pub on Tuesday.
-
Wow. I gotta hand it to you guys. That's a heckuva long way to come. I can just imagine the cost in time and money. I hope for your sakes that the conference will be worth it. I mean. .. what if you get all the way over here and it stinks? I don't think it will but . . .Man oh man!
Its like that last scene in Butch and Sundance. . . allow me to re-create it for you here. . .I got nothin' else going on. . .BUTCH: Australia. . .I figured you secretly wanted to know so I told ya.
SUNDANCE: that's your big idea?
BUTCH: The Latest in a long line. . . .
SUNDANCE: Australia's no better than here!
BUTCH: oh. . that's all you know.More discussion
SUNDANCE: Its long ways off tho' isn't it?
BUTCH: Oh everything's gotta be perfect with you!
SUNDANCE: I just don't want to get all the way down there and find out it stinks. .. .that's all.Yup. .. it's a good thing I am only comin' over from Salt Lake. . . .
-
David, trust me there is no way it can stink, as the whole point of BC is meeting everyone and networking, everything else can be a distraction some times. That's probably why it is UN-conference as a rigid schedule like last time can get boring really quick.
Then there is the evenings (say no more) -
very true Pete. ..
But admit it. . .you liked the movie reference right?
-
Pete, I will have to try and meet Tom and his Desk.
Tom, if you're reading this welcome to Manhappiness!
-
I've the same trip as Rich, actually we will be traveling together so it should shorten the trip.
-
Well my 10,200 mile trip starts in 11 hours see you on the other side people!
-
And mine in 4 hours.
I guess it's time to find my passport and some clean socks. Maybe underwear, too.
Also it's raining here but at least the shuttle minibus comes to my place! -
12hrs to check-in then nearly fifteen hours of travel before arriving in Denver. But I had best going away present, my 14 month old son took his first steps today! I was dreading it happening while away so now I'm chuffed to bits!
Safe journey to all and see you there.
