Please give some more details of what happens... and just how big/small your skp is.
What are the error reports, what are you doing when it crashes etc etc ? -
Waht graphics card do you have?
Have you updated your drivers?
Does it crash if you temporary disable hardware acceleration? -

It only happens when I am connected to the internet. when i am disconnected it works fine.

Comatose, I don't think that most of us here, have this problem. That may mean that in is specific to your system. If your problem is recent, and you can identify a date that the problem occurred, you may want to consider a Windows system restore to that date.
Otherwise, I would move the plugins to a temp folder, and completely uninstall SU. Install SU, turn off OpenGL, and open an existing model without restoring any of the plugins. Purge the model, connect to the internet, then see if your system crashes.
If things work, and you auto update Windows, do the updates first. Test SU, and if OK restore your plugins. When you restore your plugins, make sure that you delete from your temp folder the one that the new install of su places in the plugin folder. Don't do everything at once, that way, if you have a problem plugin or driver, you will be able to tell which one it is.
Btw, I have seen post where the most recent graphic driver has occassionally caused problems. Anyone else with restore SU advice?

Hve you scanned for viruses, malware etc recently ?

Don't know if this is related, but today SU crashed several times when I tried to export a animation. I tried other smaller models, etc. to no avail. I finally uninstalled SU 7.1.2 (my own numbers) reinstalled 7.1.1, and again 7.1.2, both times with no success. I noticed that in some cases, the failed export left a empty *.avi in a folder at a higher level then the data folder. So I moved the model to the Win desktop, opened, and successfully exported the avi. Maybe SU has problems (in some instances) with long path names.
My data folder name- C:\Documents and Settings\Atelier\Data\Job\Gfh Gary Hokua\Models renders\Furuta Hokua Desk
The folder I found the empty avi on crash- C:\Documents and Settings\Atelier\My Documents
The desktop subdirectory (folder)- C:\Documents and Settings\Atelier\Desktop
**Adenda 1: I just finished the export and the file ended up in C:\Documents and Settings\Atelier\My Documents
???? I must be doing something s*$&^d**
Adenda 2: Of course, the default folder is the above, I just had been assuming that it was the data folder. Everything works now????
