Hi

Hi all
I want to be able to use Sketchup proficiently. Im looking for proper architectural design tutorials or examples (real world)as opposed to a this is how you draw a little house etc type tutorial, which i can kind of do.
Im fairly new to Sketchup but I have used Autocad for a while and did a 6 month city and guilds course in 2d and 3d Autocad last year. Ive learnt a bit of Revit also but my students license has run out on both and I cant use them any more.
Ive no real imagination when it comes to drawing/designing or detailing buildings at the moment and I know some of you do this stuff for a living so I need your help
.Thanks in advance
Cheers Steve -
Welcome.
Probably the best way to use this forum is to start working on something and post models and questions when you run into difficulty. This is a really helpful community, and there are lots of tutorials embedded. Also some of the "Render This" challenges provide a lot of information about how people accomplished some difficult modeling and rendering.
There are lots of good sources outside of this forum, here is a link to some other tutorials. http://www.sketchupartists.org/tutorials/
So post away.

Thanks Jim. I have seen and tried some of them. I will be starting a 4 yr degree course in Architecture technology and jumping in to the 2nd year in Sept. The kids there will have been using sketch up for a while so I need to be up to speed.Thats why im looking for Architectural based tutorials. Im also nearly 47 and will be a very mature student

Living the dream! Always appreciate those who return to learning later in life. Wish I had same opportunity. Best of luck!
Sorry no advice on your query just admiration.
I notice Dublin as your location. The irish contingent is slowly growing here. Soon we'll dominate

I think we're nearly in double figures!
