Push/Pull to a Face
-
Is there a way or plug-in that would allow me to pull a face and make it stop at a face (one that's not parallel to the face being pulled)?
I'm trying to find a faster way to trim walls to a roof. It would be nice to draw the roof and have the footprint of the walls extrude until it meets the roof (creating an angled top face on the walls).I know I can pull it past the roof and use intersect but the last step of deleting everything is too time consuming and usually leaves open faces that need to be fixed.
I tried Booltools, but it's not quite what I need either.

Didier's Projections plugin can do that. The tool is called "project faces on face along vector".

Awesome! I hope it's not buggy...thanks so much!

I've tried the tool out and it does a good job, but it would be great if you could select multiple faces as the destination face or whatever you'd call it - like a wall meeting a gable roof.

You can, for example, draw the projection of the roof cutting your plan, then use the "project faces on face along vector" in order to extrude each part of the subdivided walls on the respective gable of the roof.

Looks cool! If it works with SU8 further explanation is required! Eg: Will it work between objects in different groups?!
