I am hoping someone can see something I don't. Every now and then I try to create turned things and they result in faces missing. I attached a model.

      What am I doing wrong?

You are doing nothing wrong... except your object is too small - there is a limitation in Sketchup / OpenGL that faces with sides < ~1mm cannot be made - an accuracy/rounding glitch...
All is not lost - if you Group your objects and then Scale by x10... then do the FollowMe, it will work as the new faces will then be large enough.
Then Scale back x0.1 - the faces will remain intact [phew!].
It's a well known workaround for very small [or very large] shapes made using FollowMe etc... 🤓
