      I'am on a windows XP machine and for some reason SketchUp will not open with my windows in the same locations as when I closed the program. It's driving me crazy! I thought that SketchUp did this automatically, do I need to do something to get the interface to open in the same place? 😛

        Check to see if you have a 3rd-party Desktop Manager running that may be saving and restoring the original window locations. (Example: NVidia Desktop Manager, etc. These often come with Video Cards/Chipsets.)

        You can also check the Windows Registry
        "HKCU" = "HKEY_CURRENT_USER" hive
        HKCU\Software\Google\Sketchup7\MainFrame

        The FirstTime attribute should be 0 (meaning false)
        Note value of wp.top, wp.bottom, wp.left, wp.right attributes
        Open Sketchup and move and/or resize main window. Close Sketchup.
        Then refresh the pane in regedt32, the values of the attributes (noted above,) should change.

        I'm not here much anymore.

          Try maximizing the SUp main window before you close it.
          SUp should then reopen with the same arrangements - unless you have in the meantime installed a new toolbar !

            Another issue may be a conflict in window positions if your running wxSU. Are you?

            Is it just the main app window, or also the inspector tool windows?

            I'm not here much anymore.

              That was it! Nvidia's desktop manager called nView was running and so I just turned it off and wahlaw! Thanks for your help Dan and TIG.
