Creating a mesh
-
hi, i'm having trouble creating a mesh.. i found one plugin, but you had to draw a bunch of construction lines and i couldn't quite get it to work.
if i have some random shape on the ground, and i have some arcs over it (see attached picture), what's the easiest way to create a mesh that drapes over the arcs and connects to the outer edge of the shape on the ground?
thanks!!

Find EEbyRails and make two rail and two profile curves...
You'll probably need to make the mesh in more than one part... -
hi!
i am having some real trouble with this. i can get a mesh in between the two rails, but nothing between the rail and the perimeter of the shape on the ground..
as well, instead of a little free-hand drawn splatter on the ground, i have this curve made up of a few smaller curves
it's tricky

With some limitations you can create additional upstanding curves with same number of segments and scaled so that the ends of the curves rest on the profile on the ground plane. Then run TIG's Extrude Edges by Loft plugin.
With a little preplanning, create Bezier curves of equal segmentation, either on a vertical standing plane, or on a ground plane and rotate them up vertical, then place them in the desired locations along your intended profile. You can scale the Bezier curves while still on plane using either native Scale tool or Fredoscale.
Alternatively, do the above placement of the curves and use the pencil tool to connect the endpoints of the segments and, where necessary, draw diagonals to close the faces.
In my personal experience, practice practice practice. And push yourself with complex exercises like the one you are doing now.

Thanks for the skp rclub24.
Here's proof that it can be done with EEbyRails...
It took only a minute or two... -
Glad to help and thanks for the new word........EEbyRail'ed
