IRender nXt- Render with section Cuts
-
I am using version 3 of IRender nXt and it does not take into account section cuts soit renders whatever is infront pf the section cut.
If anybody has an idea please let me know? Thanks

This is mostly a common "problem" with most rendering applications. Section cuts are only some "visual trick" in SU and they do not really hide or delete the geometry. The best you can do is to use the Zorro2 plugin and cut your model into two and really delete that part.
Here is an image I made the similar way:

Thanks, so this plugin takes the section cuts and makes them different objects. Will I be able to delete one side of the cut and keep the other.

do you have a link for the zorro2 plugin. I could not find it.
-
it's at the bottom of the first post along with a PDF tutorial

WARNING ! THIS PLUGIN DELETES GEMOETRY FROM THE MODEL IT DOES NOT HIDDEN IT OR GROUP IT SOMEWHERE ELSE IT REMOVES THE LINEWORK ...
MAKE A COPY OF THE MODEL FIRST BEFORE USING THE ZORRO PLUGIN ...

Yes, I also mentioned it above - although you cannot make this warning prominent enough. I have indeed screwed up one of my models this way so I had to re-start the whole project once.

c'mon guys it's elementary work-flow.... ALWAYS SAVE BEFORE RUNNING A RUBY OR MAJOR EDIT.

IRender nXt does use Section cuts. It looks through the section cut to see what is inside of a room, etc. However, the geometry in front of the section cut is still used for lights and reflections. This is important in most cases, because you want to see that a room looks like, but you may not want to have to place the camera inside of the room with a wide angle lens.
If you are not getting section cuts, make sure they are enabled properly on the nXt Setup tab.
Section cut through a SketchUp model.
Note: Even though you use a section plane to remove geometry - such as this front wall - the illumination inside is not changed. (The sun does not shine in through the now-open wall - and still creates shadows from the invisible windows.)
