Life is like ....
-
Don't you wonder about Gaieus's long time obscure byline in his signature:
"Life is like the waistcoat of a summer suit. Short and pointless..."
It's time for something new - any suggestions to help him into 21st century?
-
i agree but as there are suspensive points at the end of his signature, maybe, he keeps a secret.
maybe the end of those suspensive points are :
...but still worth it ¡he should clarify...
yes ¡
cheers -
These are the closing words of one of my favourite ("easy reading") novels; "The Blonde Hurricane".
Unfortunately this is a novel that is hard to translate but who knows - maybe you would even enjoy it on a rainy Sunday afternoon or on the beach. Other (downloadable) formats can be found here. Enjoy!

My father used to say, "Life is a sh*t sandwich and every day is another bite."
I don't suppose that's the sort of thing you had in mind, though.
-
Don't know how he'd feel about but worth a try!
Here's some he might consider, they're from a calendar my son bought me for Xmas...
-
"You always admire what you really don't understand"
-
"The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak"
-
"If you're not confused, you're not paying attention"
-
"Everything in the universe goes by indirection. There are no straight lines"
-
"There's a fine line between genius and insanity. I have erased this line"
Or on a lighter note, here's some from the late Mitch Hedberg...
-
"I have a vest. If I had my arms cut off, it would be a jacket"
-
"This shirt is "dry-clean only"...which means it's dirty"
-
"I drank some boiling water 'cause I wanted to whistle"
-
"I want to hang a map of the world in my house, and then I’m gonna put pins into all the locations that I’ve traveled to. But first I’m gonna have to travel to the top two corners of the map so it won’t fall down"
-
"Is a hippopotamus a hippopotamus or just a really cool opotamus?"
-
"My belt holds up my pants and my pants have belt loops that hold up the belt. What the f$#k’s really goin on down there? Who is the real hero?"
Okay some are a bit too long but

How about from the same source:
"What a lot of links had to be forged before we could complete the chain of circumstance that has finally brought us here."
Considerable - but then it might be too serious for me.

By one of my favorite authors:
"Life is pleasant. Death is peaceful. It's the transition that's troublesome."
--Asimov...and a few just to make you say, "Hmmm...."
“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending."
"Experience is the name every one gives to their mistakes."
"Don't worry about life, you're not going to survive it anyway."
"Creativity is allowing yourself to make mistakes. Art is knowing which ones to keep."
"I say, if your knees aren't green by the end of the day, you ought to seriously re-examine your life." --Calvin & Hobbes

How about;
"Hi, my name is Gaieus, I like long walks on the beach, alcohol, easy novels, easy...." and so on "Must love SketchUp".

good
but I still think that Gaeius would help us more if he fixed his avatar image with some more fixed points
-
Or maybe "Hi, My name is Gaieus, and I'm a sketch'Oholic"
-
that´s better

How about . . .
"life is like a box of chocolates. . .
but some have been laced with ExLax"

Life is like an onion...bittersweet and stinky.

Life is like a box of chocolates....expensive, and mostly packaging.

People with no lives live it to the fullest
This inspired me to write this:

When the glass is half full, might as well drink the rest down.
