well you can't do that with push/pull and not get internal faces. you can however make your cube the full height (from image) then select the top or bottom perimeter edges and ctrl copy them up or down as many times as you wish with no internal faces being created. ๐Ÿ˜„

Ok, thanks for the tip. the plugin worked and saved me some hours. Thanks!!!

Aquatis, are you wanting this functionality for a box modeling workflow? A plugin could be made fairly easily to re-create the pushpull tool so that it does not add internal faces when pushpulling.

Lately you've been tan, suspicious for the winter.

i think that may prove valuable to alot of people chris! specially people coming from other 3D apps where extrude doesn't leave these internal faces. ๐Ÿ˜„

actually "jointpushpull" and the push/pull tool in "SDS" work properly. too bad you have to pre-select the faces to use them, kinda screws the work flow ๐Ÿ˜ข

EEbyVector works on selected Edges only and it makes only the side Faces - it makes no end Faces [at either end] - then you can just over draw on Edge on the last set to make the 'capping' Face... ๐Ÿ’ญ

My 'manifold' does a lot more but you might not need it all, so the other will be quicker - try both and see... โ“

A simple method I use, when the model is not too complicated: After a pushpull- if an internal face is generated, I select an outer face near the internal one but not adjacent, hit the delete button, opening a viewport, orbit or navigate so that I can see inside, then select and delete the internal face. Then simply retrace one of the edges of the outer face to regenerate it.

I take the slow, deliberate approach in my aimless wandering.

In "Box Modeling", the method is to pushpull a face (without it creating an internal face in other modelers), then scale the new edges as desired. Then pushpull again and again, scale some edges. Then pushpull and do this over and over. Dozens, hundreds of times very rapidly. Until you have a boxy pproximation of a curvy shape (like a plane or space ship). Then once you have all the boxed made, you subdivide and smooth.

So it is a very fast, repetitive process of pushpulling. having to delete each internal face is a major showstopper for this modeling method. This project is still on my mind. I am working on some groundbreaking UI stuff (well, sort of groundbreaking - someone else already beat me to the punch, but it might still be cool). Once I work out some stuff, this plugin might well be one I release in the next few weeks.
