Someone can code a script for delete or change a range of materials, because in my workflow, I import so many components, and almost all the time, I don't need all the materials within the components.

Another thing that I need, is a plugin to rename or include string in the base name of the all materials, or maybe select range of materials. If I can, I write this plugins, but I don't understand ruby. Now I'm reading ruby books. Please!!!

There is a global_material_changer_script that let's you globally swap materials [even within components etc] and you can choose 'default' = nil as the replacement too... Search for it - see http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?p=63629#p63629

Thanks TIG, I already know this script, is very useful, but...

I think a script with check boxes (with all materials in the scene) to chose what material I say goodbye.

And maybe with possibility to add text in the checked materials - this time, not to delete, but for rename.

I need this because I render my scenes with Vray, and is boring to configure all materials in the scene. Every time I organizing my components library, this plugin can be very, very, very useful.

Does anybody know the Adobe Kuler? Would anybody be possible to develop a similar plugin in Sketchup?

Would it be possible to create a function that condenses identical materials in a single material and do delete the rest?

โ— Maybe I missunderstood, but isn't this the same โ“ : When you go to MATERIALS > IN THE MODEL > "right-click on one of them" > DELETE > "THIS MATERIAL IS BEING USED. DO YOU WANT TO REPLACE IT WITH THE DEFAULT MATERIAL?".

โ— And also there: MATERIALS > IN THE MODEL > Select one of them, and above there's a dialog box where you can change its name.

Doing that in so many materials can be so boring, or not?
