Vray problem
-
Raw vrimage?, what is that? Could you please explain it to me and how can i acheive render results using it? Remember the render window of vray doesn't open when i hit the render button at all. I tried to find out what vrimage meant but nothing, could you help me?
-
Render to VrImage means rendering directly to file and not using the Frame Buffer: http://software.asgvis.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=16:vfr-tutorial-a&catid=16:v-ray-for-rino
But that won't sort out your large parsing time. What version did you have? What does it say in the About section, if there is any?
-
Also, have you tried removing materials from Groups/Components?
There's a plugin to do that for you: http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=13711#p102323

It's a vray for rhino which in a weird way works in sketchup. It's a plugin. When i go to the about section i fing 'vray for rhino' and no version number. In a weird way it works inside the sketchup program.
-
No. It's not VRay for Rhino. But ASGVis makes V-Ray for Rhino as well, and the original version, which you have, did have some references to Rhino in the UI for the Sketchup version.
It's been a while since I used the original version now. But try to remove group/component materials.

Do you suggest buying the original version of vray for sketchup 7 instead of the 'original' version which my 'friend' has? (hehe...) Would this move improve render process? Oh, and how i remove materials out of groups/components, i just
delete the textures that i'm using in sketchup? -
Not sure if you can even get the original version any more.
Personally I prefer the new version over the old. Even though it means you need to be really strict about not adding materials to groups/components. There is another quick where you need to open the Option window before saving your model i fyou made any changes to materials. But all in all, the bugs in the new are more acceptable than the bugs in the old. With the new you can match the V-Ray camera to the Su camera - in the old it'll always be slightly off.
But I can tell you, that the version they are working on now, which is in beta, is looking really really promising. I'm a bit unsure if it's a free upgraded for existing users or not... you might want to check with them if buying a license now will give you the next version.

Are you beta testing it?
-
Yup. You can sign up for testing - it's been made public. Not sure if they accept more right now, but they should be opening up more soon.
But it's not a stable beta - lots of quicks, but it's a brilliant chance to provide feedback back to the developers. -
I can only find where to apply for Mac beta testing. Not windows?
Edit: Found it!
-
Then it sounds like you had a corrupted texture in the model.
Only thing I can recommend is add the textures back one by one and see when it fails.
-
I think I remember from the ASGVis forum that CMYK textures can cause problems...
-
Ok guys, i found what the problem was. I just removed all the textures in the model and the render took only 5 minutes.
Thank you all. Now the question is, how am i going to make the scene look realistic, if all the textures are removed from the model?
