great idea, simon. this is a must needed investigation.

You can also use my loft tool if you make the terrain as a series of sections first. The video in the first post shows an example. The terrain example starts at 2:35, but its sort of slow to load...sorry!

Also, TIG has the awesome extrude by edges which could also be used to make a terrain:

And also BTM's Sculpt tools are very helpful for terrains!

So those might be interesting to include in the discussion.

Good idea, Simon, to sort the different ways of surface modelling (terrain )
You'll probably add BTMs 'sculpt tool very soon.MALAISE

Hey Emiliano,
Please to meet you. Thanks for the pleasant word.

I consider this thread as a constant "Work in Progress"

due to the news plugins our developpers are imagining everyday...I consider it also as a collaborative work. If anything interesting is missing, just tell about it and I shall put it up in addition on the "Front Post"

I take the opportunity of this post to add in this Front Post a reminder rather than a trick taken from "Creating a Swaying Curtain" by Dirk de Jongh On How to subdivide a shape Using Drape Tool from Sandbox Tools.
