Thanks all. I have not even discussed it with my wife yet, she has been really busy. I may take her to the store this weekend when my daughter is over at her friends house. I am glad to hear good reviews about the Toshiba. It further strengthens my belief that a former co worker's Toshiba problems were user error

If you use your own r/c 4 channel transmitter that uses a USB adapter, you can download this flight simulator and use it for free: http://www.flying-model-simulator.com/ No, it's not going to have the same awesome graphics and the physics accuracy may be a little less realistic, but for building your r/c hand-eye coordination it's really an awesome program. It took me a little while to figure out how to configure the sticks to work properly with the heli program - if anyone needs pointers, let me know. Maybe this post could be cross-linked with the free s/w forum? Happy Sketching, Brad

Thanks, Mateo. Luckily, I have all the time in the world to use it. I'm not a professional, so I can afford the render times. SU + MoI + Podium + Indigo + Maxwell. I'm beginning to have really nice toolbox.

Thank you guys. I need some help deciding between these two: Space Nav vs Space Explorer. The first one is $60 dollar and the second one is $300. It looks like both work the same way, but the second one has some extra features and I am not sure how useful they are and if it is worth paying $240 more for those features. Link for $60: http://www.3dconnexion.com/3dmouse/spacenavigator.php Link for $300: http://www.3dconnexion.com/3dmouse/spaceexplorer.php

Geee, thanks guys. I'm gradually getting the hang of Podium. While it is a very simple program to get underway with, it has a hidden depth of control but does require some experiment work. I have yet to figure out how to properly get a daylight effect in a room. The render I posted really is a 'cheat' as I gave the ceiling a light value then cropped it out of the picture, well it works to a certain extent I'm playing around with the 'Omni' lights / features and think this has to be mastered to achieve what I want. I probably will come up with my own 'cobbled' workflow, but what the hell!, as long as it achieves the desired effect. Mike

Well I'm sorry you feel that way. Maybe you should measure your own comments against the critique directed at me.

Mike, It is an idea I have had for a while. This way I do not have to carry a laptop to every meeting. The player has to be fairly easy to use as well. I do not want a client getting frustrated if the player does not work as expected. Thanks for the input. I think today I will be going to make a decision and pick one up. I will let everyone know what I find. Scott

@unknownuser said: Lewis...go back to "Create and Update" ...look for "File Manager" This should allow you access to your directory tree if not you have a problem that needs to be solved before you proceed. Re php forum...Yahoo has an install wizard that will set it up for you on the Yahoo server and establish a db for your data. They also provide back-up services and restore and recovery services for that version but I believe you are on your own if you install manually a newer version and you will also have to understand linux file permission and configuration settings ....not sure I would venture there until you have run their stock board for a few months. I actually do understand Linux permissions fairly well. However, it is the interaction with php and the database that is a little unclear. I will probably, just for this item, stick with stock board as you suggest.

Great plugin, however if your monitor is not set in right then it's all pointless. Here is a great tool. http://spyder.datacolor.com/
