i'm so embarassed. You guys were gracious enough to notice and I failed to respond. I'm working on leaving for a project in Dubai and haven't been able to follow things on the forum as much.

I guess this is a belated thank you birthday wish response.....first time in the history of the world

      Thanks everybody

    • Form Fonts questions

How many of you guys are subsribers of http://www.formfonts.com ?

I've been debating whether it is worth the cost of the subscription particularly if you cannot keep using any of the models if you continue to unsubscribe from there program.

I haven't read the agreement recently but as I understood it as of a few years ago you technically 'rented' the models and were not licensed to use them after your lease expired. Does anybody know if this is still the case?

Any thoughts on this issue would be appreciated.

      thanks

      Sorry one last question

Where did you find such wonderful trees and 3d people. Did you buy them? If so where? Are they free and available to all of us?

Sorry for all the questions....really nice work!

I have not taken offense to anything friend. Glad you liked those projects. We won an AIA award for the UStreet project- so that was cool

      Juju,

Great comments! Thank you for a great review. You are right! I won't be updated these images but will consider your comments for future work. I only recieved 2d CAD drawings from which I generated this model. It isn't in a field - but in a residential neighborhood. I wish i had more info and I would have built more of the context. However I did not. In fact I didn't even have the property line information! So i had to guess where the walls should be. That part bugs me a lot.

      Thanks again!

Unfortunately my Brazilian friend I live in Washington DC - a very architecturally conservative place. It is really difficult to do anything modern.

At my office we have finally gotten to the point where we do not take on anything that isn't modern. It has taken us several years to get here. I did this project as a favor to a friend of mine + I needed the money - got to pay for my daughter baptism!

      Hello friends

I've been contracted to do the modeling and rendering for this residential addition. The architecture isn't my cup of tea so don't critique me on it.
      Modeled in SU
Rendered in Kerkythea with Path tracing option
Grass and other plants in Photoshop

      Comments and crits welcome.

      That sucks!

since i'm not a mac user i never think to check these things.....however if you buy mac parrales with a pc version of Photoshop you should be able to run it πŸ˜• πŸ˜’

I'm going on vacation and will be drowning in work until i leave. I'll do my best to create the tutorial i promised but i won't promise. I'll post it under the rendering section of this website.

      ok ok

here is the secret.....download this photoshop plug-in. http://www.optikvervelabs.com/ It works really well and give lots of presets to play with. In fact is is great for images straight out of sketchup. I'll create a few examples later and post them for everybody to see.

Best of all its free! God bless'm!

I'll show you guys how to create areas of light/atmosphere in photoshop at another time. I'm at work now and have to go. Glad you guys like my work.

Best of all all of these tricks happen very quickly once you get the hang of them.

    • RE: SU-Artantis interiors

I think you can literally open an SU file in ARtlantis not import it.

      Try that

    • RE: SU-Artantis interiors

first i would try and reinstall the exporter that can be downloaded from the artlantis website

I'm not suggesting to reinstall SU because that could be a complicated task.

Try opening up your SU file in ARtlantis directly ----- let me know if that works

    • RE: SU-Artantis interiors

Try and reinstall the program if the .atl exporter crashes. This is my best recomendation.

I also read somewhere that Artlantis R 1.2.5 (i think) can import SU files directly.

      Good luck with that

      Jeff

      Hello old friend
Glad you took a look at my drawings.....you were the reason I bought Artlantis way back. I was really impressed with the work you did with it when you were still using it.

The grain and bloom effect is for the exact reason you specified. It helps to soften the image up even though it isn't exactly photo real. It's more of a mood thing. Still can't beat artlantis times with any other renderer. Perfection has a price - and with a single processor like mine the price is time.

So i'm still using ARtlantis for my interior and KT for exteriors.

Thanks for checking out my work
Glad to finally find this new forum. These are my first posting ins the forum.
