stefanq: don't worry I'm not offended, afterall it didn't state anywhere photoshop wasn't permitted. Post pro is where I make my money as a visualiser, i'm not ashamed. Hope you liked it anyway...
Teofas: its VERY generous of you to share your scene (I swear you could stick it on evermotion and make some money! ) superb images, the details are incredible

I'm sorry Teo. I thought it was a V-Ray competition, not Adobe Photoshop.
Wow really great renders, vaders ride is supafly! Id love to see a grunged up version or a snowy hoth version. Cough render challenge cough lol
Mansell's in digbeth is my haunt when it comes to curry houses...service with a smirk is all your gonna get at those prices
great work..makes me want to break out the top gun quotes...
Slider: Goose, whose butt did you kiss to get in here anyway?
Goose: The list is long, but distinguished.
Slider: Yeah, well so is my Johnson.
I like these..nice..you look like you have some sort of film grain on these correct?, have you tried adjusting the curves in PS or is this washed grey look what your going for? Dont get me wrong tho they look good.
Recently downloaded GIMP to have a look, see what the crack is after having problems with my PS. I've just got to say its bloody frustrating. I understand its free and its ok for basic stuff but for compiling a render and the level of post I normally do its a pain in the arse!
The tools seem fairly powerful but the interface and toolbars make the process akin to eating a cream cake with boxing gloves. Am I just not getting it or does anyone feel the same?
a good part of the centre is on google earth already...not for export into SU tho unfortunately. Great to hear there is a Brummie division of sketchucation! Chips and curry sauce all round
Glad you guys like it, il write a basic workflow when i have a spare moment.
Tom, im in edgbaston by the reservoir, dont know about internet spying but there is plenty of choppers flying overhead because of cam's bash.
Unity is great, the possiblities are amazing if you have the time and effort to learn basic coding btw you cant open the doors i didnt model anything beyond them, was just a demo really
Nice! Is any of this in free Unity?
If anyone is interested I created this virtual walkthrough using unity and the fabulous Lightup plugin to flog to clients. Its also a great way of making rendered walkthroughs with smooth camera transitions without having to wait days for frames to render.
http://sites.google.com/site/viztecture/ - visit here for the virtual walkthrough (you may need to download unity player plugin...it takes 30 secs!)
Impressive use of a texture matched building. I assume the windows aren't modelled. Can we see a wire frame? I like it... your getting very good at these!
not really an animation in the strictest sense, you could have done this with a couple of stills and some basic working knowledge of after effects in half the time, still its a good go, try moving the camera and speeding up the frame rate.
here's a quick animation I did with just 3 stills from vray and after effects.

not sure what this was rendered in but your shadows are doing very strange things...they are very crisp. chucking this in photoshop and tweaking the levels would do it the world of good. keep going!
Nice one Oli, great little job for an all nighter...im impressed. I wouldnt go changing the scoreboard tho ..theres been enough allegations of match fixing this week
good work in post...i appreciate good PS...its where you make your money as an arch visualiser IMO
cool concept..couple of pointers I think could make these a wow image.
the lighting is a little blown on the street lamps and the moonlight isnt effecting the tops of the buildings.
compositionally the POV is floating too high above the ground, kills the atmosphere and realism. Also you need to tighten the streets up, victorian london never had such generously proportioned streets and the image needs something (ie another building, lamppost) in the foreground to frame the shot.
I like this tho, very evocative
