Actually, that video showed exactly what I'm trying to do, but didn't show me what he clicked after grouping the wedge and box.
I'll keep plugging away.

Well, for rounded edges I have the bezier tool, but I'll check out Fredos. It's probably better. But What I mean is, say I want an indentation on a rounded surface. Lets just say a golf ball as an example. Once the surface is round, I can't just extrude it, so how would I work with it? Another example would be a screw. How would you turn a nail into a screw (with the threads?).
Are there any tutorials on this? It has been my biggest road block so far
Hey all, I just started using sketchup for 3d printing. My biggest problem so far is interacting with rounded surfaces, especially if they have been smoothed out. I'm trying to get the effect in the following picture (the three indentations at the end of the barrel) as seen here:
Onto my model:
I know you can't extrude rounded surfaces, so I'm not entirely certain what to do with it.
Also, I have the recurve plugin, but it has never worked for me. I've tried every possible combination of surfaces and edges, but it just unselects them and nothing happens.
Thanks in advance!
