I ordered a new laptop, and spec'd Vista basic. I was thinking about
uninstalling it and putting a copy of XP as the os instead.
Now I'm being told don't do that.
Here's that question, how screwed I'm I with running Vista basic as opposed to any of the other versions.
Assuming that I will have to face an upgrade, what does anybody recommend.

RE: Stuff on TV
I feel the need to apologize for my last post. It would be easy to read into it a great deal of things that I didn't intend. I mean't no disrespect to any one in the design field. If I offend anyone, please except my appology.

RE: Stuff on TV
Ya, you can still find Villa occasionally. It's been my experience that the gay guys are interior decorators, which I consider a different breed of cat than designers. With decorating apparently more flame is better.
As for the 14 day turn around, well with enough resources and 24 hours a day, a lot can be accomplished. Think about it, how many out there have gone from drywall to finished in a week. Around here we call it the "parade of homes". Just don't look to close.

Did you know
Beer contains female hormones
Last month, National University of Lesotho scientists released the
results of a recent analysis that revealed the presence of female
hormones in beer.Men should take a concerned look at their beer consumption. The
theory
is that beer contains female hormones (hops contain
phytoestrogens) and
that by drinking enough beer, men turn into women. To test the theory, 100 men drank 8 pints of beer each within a 1
hour
period. It was then observed that 100% of the test subjects:- Argued over nothing.
- Refused to apologize when obviously wrong.
- Gained weight.
- Talked excessively without making sense.
- Became overly emotional.
- Couldn't drive.
- Failed to think rationally.
- Had to sit down while urinating.
No further testing was considered necessary. Send this to the men
you
know to warn them about drinking too much beer! -
RE: 2 core ,Vista and Geforce 7600
It was an updated driver for the video card, but it also required a newer version of the BIOS for the machine

RE: 2 core ,Vista and Geforce 7600
I got a hold of Toshiba tech and they had me upgrade the BIOS and then install a recently released driver and now all is well.
Thanks

2 core ,Vista and Geforce 7600
I have a new Toshiba Intel 2 core laptop with Vista and 7600 Nvidia graphics card.
Every time I open up SU it hangs. The guys at SU said this is a known problem, it's the Vista supplied driver. I downloaded the latest driver and SU still hangs when I start it up.
Anybody have experience with how to fix this?
