      I had a request from one of my customers to delete the midrail from the Bifold. I now included an option in the Settings menu, which turns the Midrail ON/OFF. I will forward the revised bifold door.rb to my customers, ASAP!

      I don't seem to get consistent results. like adhesion doesn't seem to really make the vine adhere as it does make it grow shorter distances with each click.

      This Ivy generator is a got attempt at copying Thomas Luft's Ivy generator , but still has some minor problems such as collision detection which the SketchUp API may not not contain. 😞

    • [Plugin][$] Bifold Door Tools

      Its been almost 3 years since I developed DoorTools and WindowTools.
      There was a question by: honoluludesktop back in Sept 2008, How about a pair of bifolds

      http://forums.sketchucation.com/viewtopic.php?f=323&t=12869&start=15
      I had abandoned this requested project several times, but I'm now finally happy with the finished results πŸ˜„

      BifoldTools works in conjunction with DoorTools, this allows users to add Door Frame and Door Trim prior to using Bifold Tools. DoorTools can also be used to install Louvers into the Bifold Panels, or Mullions in combination with Glass, etc. etc. Here are also 8 Bifold Pics in the Bifold Pics folder that can be used to dress up the Bifolds thus reducing the face count of your project. The user can change the default glass transparency color to solid or any other color by simply changing the default glass material in the material browser in SketchUp, after a Bifold has been installed. The Bifold Tools script: Provides 2 styles (Slab & Panel with Glass transparency) x 6 (Door Positions) x 3 (Hardware Options) = 36 different Bifold configuration to choose from.

      How to use BifoldTools:
      1.0 Click 3 points, in any existing opening will create a Bifold door in that opening.
      2.0 From the Bifold Door Parameters menu: Select Panel or Slab construction.
      3.0 From the Bifold Door Parameters menu: Select one of the following:
      3.1 1 Pair Open
      3.2 1 Pair Closed
      3.3 Sliding Open
      3.4 Sliding Closed
      3.5 2 Pair Open
      3.6 2 pair Closed
      4.0 From the Hardware menu: Select: Knob, Pull Bar, or None
      5.0 All Bifolds are placed on Door Layer by default
      6.0 All 2D Bifold outlines are Placed on Door Swing Layer, which by default is Hidden.
      7.0 Access the change Bifold Settings menu from the plugins menu toolbar to change specific Bifold Door Settings.

    • RE: Google Drive is live

      I figured out the sharing, over the home network, (which no one, in their right mind, would consider as a file sharing alternative which windows 7 already provides) but it illustrates how GD works.

      1. I made my wife the person I want to share the GD files with. This sends an email to her email account. If she does not have a Gmail account), she needs to setup her own Gmail account, login to access the link to my shared files, or since its a home network sign in under my Gmail account.

      BTW: I added an .mov folder to my GD computer drive, I contains 4 .mov files which after 4 hours has not been transferred yet. 😒

    • RE: Google Drive is live

      I decided to give GD a spin. I presume Google is still trying to iron out the kinks, although I see no feedback forum.
      my 1st impression:

      1. upload speed; reminds me of using the old 14.5 modem, took over 1.5 hours to uploaded 300MB (126 photos), upload server crapped out at 120 photo upload.
      2. web surfing while using GD, causes severe refresh rates.
      3. was unable to generate GD sharing over my home network.

    • RE: Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth

      Its rather unfortunate that the entire 911 site was never designated a crime scene, that in, and by itself was a crime. If it had been, forensic exploration would have taken place. But someone made a decision to simply remove all the debris as soon as possible, before such action could or would have been allowed to take place. Hence there are only a few pictures of steel columns, like the attachment. Which raises the question about the the use of termite, and for which more that a few experts have lost their jobs, including Physicist Professor Stephen Jones. Does jet fuel really have the capacity to cut 2" thick steel diagonally? Note: the molten steel still remains solidified on the column as the temperature cooled. The official report is a total sham, and does not even discuss the collapse of WTC 7 which was not hit by a plane some 5 hours later.

    • RE: Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth

      I'm not a quasi engineer, simply an observer of natural events, plus having worked in the construction industry for well over 40 years.
      A Semi-trailer truck might weigh as much as one of these beams. A 150 mph tornado has no problem picking up a Semi-trailer truck and tossing it around like a toy. I cant see those type of forces having being generated by this so called natural collapse, much less the total pulverization of gravel/rock into dust particles. Even a typical demolition using traditional methods, involves the removal of broken pieces of concrete, and reinforcing steel. Also keep in mind that buildings, designated for demolition, do not contain combustible materials, they have all been removed prior to the demolition. So how did all these combustible materials disintegrate into dust for these 2 buildings? The Pile which was left, as described by the NYC firefighters, had a temperature of 3000 degrees for several weeks. Where did that heat come from....jet fuel?

      I'm not here to destroy anyone's belief system, I have not seen God, Jesus or Fee energy machines.
      It all depends on your point of view, or who you believe is telling you the truth, its simply your choice.
      However what might keep anyone interested in the subject and occupied for some time is trying to get answers to some of the 100's of unanswered questions pertaining to 911:
      http://whatreallyhappened.com/WRHARTICLES/911q.html?q=911q.html
      Also have look at this video where members of the NYFD describe what they saw and heard on 911.

    • HTML 5?

      There is lots of buzz about Flash being on its way out. To be replaced with HTML5. Apparently Steve Jobs' decision not to include Flash on the Iphone has become more than just a threat supported by the fact that Iphones clearly are becoming a large part of the market. I'm curious how SketchUP is going to proceed going forward in light of the increased use of both Android and Iphone tablets at the job site and how the SU drawing information will get transferred via these WIFI devices?

    • RE: Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth

      The URL shows a 70ft, 50-ton steel 3 story column to be installed as a reminder of 911
      http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1309923/Twin-Towers-column-raised-Ground-Zero-World-Trade-Center-site-again.html

      Some of these ground floor column were not subjected to the so called pancake collapse. All subsequent exterior 3 story columns were staggered during installation, bolted and welded into place as the building height increased. They supported each floor, consisting of metal decking and 5" concrete floor, the metal deck was supported on open web steel joists much like 2x10's floor joists support the floor in your home, these Open web steel joists spanned from the exterior steel columns to the massive interior steel structure, consisting of 4'x 4' square trusses running vertically around the interior elevator cores of each tower the entire height of both towers. Each of the diagonal and vertical steel members making up these massive trusses were 1.5" inch.

      My attached composited pic, shows the so called pancake collapse, and one of the towers during construction.
      Please ask yourself one question?

      Can a pancake collapse, generate horizontal forces capable of ejecting 3 story steel columns, hundreds of feet around the perimeter of the building?

      All of these steel columns also disintegrate before they reached the ground. Not one piece of concrete from each of the 110 floor, survived this so called pancake collapse, which should have been slowed time wise due to gravity. Concrete contained on each floor, which consists of stone/gravel, sand cement, and water to initiate the hydration process, did not survive the collapse. Not one piece of stone or gravel, Not one chair, Not one cabinet, Not one table, Not one bathroom fixture, Not one computer. How is it possible to turn all of this stuff into instant dust in a simple pancake collapse which took less time than normally gravity would act upon?

    • Combining 2 groups of entities?

      I want to combine 2 groups of entities, so if the user decides to do a delete, her or she only has to do that once.

      group = entities.add_group
      r_entities=group.entities

      (there are 6 entities in this group)

      group = entities.add_group
      rr_entities=group.entities

      (there are 4 entities in this group)

      How do I make a group that combines r_entities &rr_entities ?

      TIA!

      I didn't mean to open the Goto can of worms! it was a deja vu moment from the past, I realize that Goto can easily be satisfied using if. My current Ruby already contains some 20 if statements, which are goto's. I should be able link via another if statement the sharing of the stored registry value of the @stylwidth in Dialog 1 and Dialog 2.....Hopefully πŸ˜’

    • RE: How toget a Settings Menu to communicate with a Main Menu?

      Whats really needed, from the old programming days of the past is a simple GOTO statement.
      I hope my attached picture illustrates a simplified flow of my ruby. Presently if I # comment the @stylewidth variable under Dialog 1 the entity cannot be draw. However with a GOTO statement the program would be directed to the value to the @stylewidth variable under Dialog 2 and then be directed back to draw the entity.

      p.s. interesting if one Google's Goto Ruby, you get people commenting on either side of this issue.

    • RE: [Plugin] Generate Ceiling Grid (Updated 27-Mar-2014)

      I was mistakenly concerned that I would not be able to remove individual panels in order to create light panels. But that is not the case, the Surface can be intersected with the model (namely the Grid), by right-clicking the context menu. Now that the Surface and the Grid have been intersected, individual panels can be be removed as required, for lights. thanks again sdmith
