      Ok. Understood.
      My first thought was that it is a sort of debugger πŸ˜„ First thing I have done - I have loaded 'real' script too check how it goes πŸ˜„

      I am testing it and it is excellent for learning Ruby πŸ‘

      Somehow I would expect better quality from an unbiased solution than a biased one, but in my tests it is (almost) exactly the same.

      πŸ˜„ Funny thing. It just means that with Photon Mapping and proper setup you can achieve almost same result as with unbiased method. It just proves the quality of PM solution in KT.
      In most of simple scenes PM will be sufficient and it is not worth to invest time in MLT.

      Chris,
      I am using it as well for SU2KT and haven't had problems with it.
      It is highly customizable. I know it is possible to read win registry to find out SketchUp dir automatically. I haven't tried it yet.

      Ok. Sorry I have erased my previous post. GIANNIS (it is correct nick) is looking for good deal on MAC.
      Someone generous has donated almost half of necessary sum. KT on Mac, I believe will be available quite soon.

      Whaat,
      Have you used DHTML or do you have your own .js? How big your additional js/css libraries are?

      One thing is annoying in your script for multi rendering programs users πŸ˜„
      When double click on material in SU material editor your SU2IN windows pops up.
      What if I would like to add my own? I know it is convenient but maybe right click - edit Indigo mat?
      Just a thought.

      Thanks

      Whaat. I was always impressed by your programming skills but that is really amazing. 8O
      I can imagine how much time have you spent.
      It is obvious that I would like to have a look at them in detail.
      I have made some progress with KT materials in SU2KT3.0 but I am still far behind you πŸ˜„

      Great job!

    • RE: KERKITHEA EXPORT PROBLEM

      Hi Patrice,
      Have you tried to export to C:? I remember someone reporting problem with saving into My Documents folder or rather at the desktop.

      @unknownuser said:

      The export file doesn't show the .xml extension and doesn't save.

      It will not show you extension below file name. You can just press save.
      If you could open Window\Ruby Console and try exporting. There should be an error in the console.

      What happens when you press 'Save' in your sample?

    • RE: KERKITHEA EXPORT PROBLEM

      Hello Daniel,
      I have checked your file and the model consists of ca.800,000 faces, which in turn can give ca. 2,4M triangles. My advice is to export the whole model in parts. You have already divided it into several groups - try to export one by one (using selection) or even divide them even further more.

      SU2KT 2.4 will have some improvements in importing huge models. Version 2.3 is almost ready now.

      Tomasz

      To moderators: This thread should be moved to Ruby forum, as it still relates more to the issue with exporter, then rendering itself πŸ˜„

    • RE: [SKM Bug]Material attributes within SKM files

      Here are my findings in relation to attributes assigned to the SKM file:

      • SU will not save an attribute containing an array or hash
      • SU will save multiple keys within single attribute dictionary .. but will load only first! 😞

      In attached sample there are three keys saved:

      <n0:AttributeDictionary count="3" name="su2kt">
      <n0:Attribute key="kt_lib_path" type="10">TEST1</n0:Attribute>
      <n0:Attribute key="kt_map" type="10">KT MAP</n0:Attribute>
      <n0:Attribute key="kt_mat" type="10">KT MAT</n0:Attribute>

      but only first kt_lib_path will be loaded 😞
      I am afraid only a fix from Google would help.

    • RE: [SKM Bug]Material attributes within SKM files

      Gata, thanks for info.

      I have done a test and simple attributes are being saved!
      <n0:Attribute key="kt_mat" type="10">Test</n0:Attribute>

        <mat;material colorBlue="0" colorGreen="0" colorRed="0" colorizeType="0" hasTexture="0" name="New" trans="0.5" type="0" useTrans="0" xmlns;n0="http://sketchup.google.com/schemas/1.0/types">
          <n0;AttributeDictionaries count="1">
            <n0;AttributeDictionary count="1" name="su2kt">
              <n0;Attribute key="kt_mat" type="10">Test</n0;Attribute>
            </n0;AttributeDictionary>
          </n0;AttributeDictionaries>
        </mat;material>

      It looks we have to translate all unprintable characters into \nn form ( string.dump ).
      I will let you know about success or failure πŸ˜„

      Kristoff, thanks for bumping πŸ˜„

      Jim, it was Whaat who was looking for solution. Now I have tried as well to attach attribute dictionary to a material AND saving it to SKM file. As provided sample shew the attribute distionary "su2kt" was saved but the "kt_mat" key was empty.

    • [SKM Bug]Material attributes within SKM files

      Whaat I have tried to answer your question at GG (!Β£Censored to protect your privacyCensored to protect your privacy"Β£!) but THEY HAVE LOCKED IT. I have received a message saying 'you cannot reply to this message.' !!!!

      So I will do it here! 😑

      Still haven't found the answer to this question. Can someone from Google look into this?
      They don't care about freeware exporters.

      I have tried to save my attributes assigned to the material. What I have found that SU saves attribute but without content...
      Skm files are zipped XML files + PNG as a thumbnail.
      In rhe document.xml you can find:

      <mat:material colorBlue="64" colorGreen="64" colorRed="64" colorizeType="0" hasTexture="0" name="Silver" trans="0.5" type="0" useTrans="0" xmlns:n0="http://sketchup.google.com/schemas/1.0/types">
      <n0:AttributeDictionaries count="1">
      <n0:AttributeDictionary count="1" name="su2kt">
      <n0:Attribute key="kt_mat" type="11"/>
      </n0:AttributeDictionary>
      </n0:AttributeDictionaries>
      </mat:material>

      There is no CONTENT although attribute has been saved.. <n0:Attribute key="kt_mat" type="11"/>
      We could add manually the content but I don't know how and it is not easy inside zipped file...
      Should it look like:
      <n0:Attribute key="kt_mat" type="11" value="Greeting from KT-team"/>
      ??

      Cheers
