Hi all.
I have a question regarding the Google Earth preview versus the Google Earth terrain layer in SU.
When creatiing the model using the SU GE layer, it all aligns nicely, but when previewing the model in GE, it appears to be sunken into the terrain.
I feel that his has happened to more and more models lately, and i have had to raise the models (already accepted models), and reupload them to GE to make them appear correct.
Does anyone have any comments on this?
I am really sorry that i hve not replied to this earlyer. I was sertain that i had email notification turned on, and thought noone had answered.
I will try your tips, and thank you for your time!
This model: http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=d61d61806c79db5fd3203f95b546b8be&ct=psce&hl=en has ben rejected a couple of times for Incomplete photo texturing and Terrain too built up. I am stuck now, and do not know where the errors lie. I have changed everything that i think might be wrong, but i must be overlooking something. Can anyone please help?
Thanks!
One thing tho, that is not very visible from the photo. The "Center" of this blosck is raised. The whole inner of the block is raised to a second floor. Does this change your previous answer?
Hi fellow sketchupians.
I am about to model this building in Norway:

My question is, would you do this as one, or more buildings for google earth?
Hi all fellow sketchupers.
I just took this test, and got a certificate.
http://www.brainmeasures.com/transcript.aspx?transcriptid=5891
Now, does anyone have any thoughts about the real value of this certificate? I do not mean as in money, but for instance for a employer, or if i want to offer my services as a 3d designer.
Anyone?
Hi gaieus.
I tried going down the png/transparency road for the structure, but i was completely unable to get a good picture, because it is placed on top of a mountain, and it is impossible to get a "side in" view. All pictures where from below and up, and the structure was hopeless to get to look good enough for me to be able to make a good material. However, I used pictures from the tower for material, but i resized them to be really small. Would it be better to use bigger pictures? I was thinking about filesize when i did this.
Please forgive my norwenglish. I hope the sentences are possible to understand anyway.
Hi all.
I have just recently uploaded this tower to Google Earth:
http://sketchup.google.com/3dwarehouse/details?mid=d081d26e374dfbe910fdcf21e6789f26&ct=mdsa
It has not been evaluated yet, but i would love to have som feedback from you guys, as it is my first attempt on this type of structure.
Any tips on how to do this better?
