Looks like we will soon need approval on topic and content from Box before posting! I'm puzzled how did the forum ever survive pre-Box

Weeks.

Looking good Bryan, my old Mam used to say...what's worth having is worth waiting for.
Have you tried TIG's Extrusion tool set, they're great.

Hello Mike, I tried to reply (am) but it's saying your blocking IM's

RE: A personal WIP.
Hello Mike, Here's a quick model of the house. Please check the dimensions as it's as accurate as time allows ATM. The bricks don't help as they don't show the joints off very well! The width of the bay window is my main concern. I'll have a better look tonight, it's something to work off.

RE: A personal WIP.
Hello Mike, have you tried the local planning department? usually they have "recent" submitted applications filed electronically (here in H/pool) since 2005, you may be lucky. Also different areas often had the same house design or slightly altered, an attic ect give that a try.
Without plans your best option is brick counting
it's my favourite pass-time. Below is a skp. file of the brick bond and gauge guides to reference to, this is how I always start. I notice that the scale of the door reveals and frame width are a little "out", these should help. That kettle of boiling water sure brings back memories of the good old "care free" days

Looking great Bryan, a little reflection on the Bike/Biker and you've cracked it. The proportions look spot on.

RE: HISTORY IN 3D
Wow

I can appreciate the amount of work that the team must have put into producing this, very smooth animation.

RE: Influenced by Bryan K's vehicles.
Hello Mike, no big thing but it would look better if you added a thickness to the "open" edges, especially on the bumpers. Coming along great.

RE: Summer Residence
Thank you Steve, glad a couple of others feel as I do, it means I'm not cracking up alone. We have the best forum on the net with the best people, I'm proud to be part of that but everything can be improved. A few ideas to get more people "who wish" to participate would be great.
Thanks Carsten, no-one has any doubt about the contribution you bring to the forum
and I realise that some folks simply don't have time.thanks

RE: Summer Residence
Hello Simon, It will be great to see you back posting again, your work is always top draw.
It may have been a personal rant above but I really feel that the gallery is falling way short of it's potential. There is so much scope to encourage newcomers to Sketchup and the gallery; model this, render this, group modelling, tutorials, different sections of interest ect...the list is endless.
Surely with 300k members it would not take a lot of encouragement? would it
Now where did I put those blood pressure tablets....
John.

RE: Summer Residence
Thank you all for the kind words.
Having become a little disillusioned with the Gallery of late decided to stop posting as I feel that I'm only posting every now and then for the sake of it. The fun aspect and participation seems to have dwindled a bit since I first stumbled across Sketchucation, although I still love Sketchup
. Maybe things will change, I don't know, I'll still be on the forum (grrr I hear you all shout).Steve there's nothing I could teach you about modelling!
Peter it would look good with the Mustang Boss off my site sat out front
