Hi

Just wondering if there was any way to use the line tool in the same way as the construction line tool. ie pulling from an edge out onto a face and leaving a line running parallel to the edge on the face, just like a construction line, only solid?

Jean I selected all the layers and changed the layer info but it still seemed to keep the unwanted layer info within the group when I opened to edit them. I need to keep the groups as they are as its an intricate stairway and I have a feeling when I send it back he will still need maximum editability, thank you for the other info, It will be stored and used in future.

I have just inherited a sketchup file and the previous person has made a stairway with a vast amount of groups. These groups have been assigned to different entity info(layers). I was hoping to find out if there is a quick way to grab all groups and change every individual group,face and edge to a single layer, without having to dig deep into every group and change individually.

I have recently upgraded to pro and am in the process of working on a file with multiple dwg(cad) files. All is going well except one issue I have.

I have created multiple floors and I have placed a dwg file on top of my created floor. I would like to follow some of the lines on the dwg but i would like the lines to intersect with my floor, as I am going to be pushing down. At present it is creating a new surface rather than intersecting with my floor surface ? Any ideas on how to get around this ? Thanks in advance and I hope I explained myself clearly enough.
