Hi Hellnbak, your predicament sounds uncannily like my own, and I understand your frustration. The KT forum has a "Live' tutorial thread but I got lost in that very soon so gave up on that. Not to make light of your predicament but am kind of glad to find someone in the same boat, rowing through the same molasses, I am not alone

A 'definative' tutorial would be GOLD though

I can offer no insights but I have been looking at Majid's tutorial "FastStart4Architects" which I am hoping will give me a start.

I did as you accounted..... i think. I made the small cylinder made it a component slid it trough, selected both cylinders, 'intersect faces'-'with selected' got rid of the two plugs.
Like a charm.

Hey Jeff, I was assuming that the joints were done with epoxy and the glassing was done in
poly' is that correct? If that is so, I think if the cleaning is done sufficiently well, the remaining epoxy will be in such small amounts (in the cells of the wood) that the polyester will not be effected and the poly surface will have enough integrity to keep it at bay. Spiders in gear knobs are set in poly, not sure what the comparability of spiders and Polyester are. I would just make sure I would not overwork the areas around the joints though.

I would remove the retarded 'gel' initially, mechanically by scrapping with a Stanley knife blade to remove the polyester/Epoxy mix bulk, and then and then thoroughly clean with GP thinners (the thinners will not effect the thermoset resin, sure you know that though) let it dry and sand the whole thing to give it some tooth. I would then coat it with polyester resin again, sand, re coat, sand, final coat. Not an Industrial Chemist but that's what I would do.

Hi Edgar, I cannot speak for all Universities but all 3 of my local ones that I know of have robotics clubs some with associate memberships maybe you could give that a try, in your locale. I know that Andruino/Reprap configs are commonplace with them now.

Just for the sake of accuracy gas/piston weapons are not the only type of 'self loading' rifles there are others, such as recoil actions. 'Self loading' is the genre that would or should be banned. Just a detail though. Agreed though(self loading weapons) should be banned. Banning gun ownership based on mental fitness would be ineffective, and a legislative nightmare with only a marginal effect if any.
