One word...IVY!!
That scene screams for Ivy.
You are right. I don't know how I could achieve this however. Maybe there is some good ivy at the wharehouse?

Yes, I plan to completely texture and render this. I am about a third done.

The graffiti textures on the walls, are they done post pro or actual textures?
The Graffiti is a texture from CG Textures

RE: V-Ray Kitchen
The materials and modeling look great, but I don't like how white the sky is.
Good Luck -
RE: Industrial Dungeon
I recently revisited this render, and here is the result after fixing it up with Picsa 3.

RE: Sketchup to Luxrender
Whenever I use Luxrender, I just take the long way,
Export as google Earth,
Rename to model.zip,
Remove the Colloda from inside the zip file,
Convert to .3ds in FBX Converter -http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=7851697
Open in Blender,
Export to Luxrender. For all this trouble, it gives about the same output as Indigo.

RE: Newbie Asking for Feedback
The textures are working great, my only critic is the blank surroundings. It would look nice on a wood floor or a table of some sort.

RE: Traditional beauty
The cracked cement around the door really adds to the render. Great work!

Does anyone know why this is happening?
Because you're a lucky man.
